"Contacted Mr. Electric Austin location to install a thermostat and troubleshoot an electrical problem (outside outlet was tripping if used a  GSI outlet in a bathroom). Wait time for an appointment was one week, I left work early to make service window.  A half hour into my call window called Mr. Electric was immediately put on hold for five minutes till someone answered and I asked when the tech was actually going to show up was put on hold again, and when the lady came back on the phone said the tech was still on his last call it was taking longer than expected. The lady asked if she could give me a call back when she had a better idea when he will be out to my area I of course said Yes. <br /> Well, a half hour later the lady called me back and said the tech could make it there in a half hour I said that was fine.  The tech showed up followed by a unknown gentlemen who I assumed was a manager doing a proficiency check on the tech he never introduced himself or even talked to me.  The tech greeted me and asked what I needed done I first showed him the thermostat the main reason for the call and because it was a smart one he could not install it which annoyed me greatly. <br /> Moving onto the next reason for the call he asked what the electrical problem was so he could evaluate it for pricing purposes I explained what was going on with the outside front outlet and the bathroom GSI outlet and he asked for a vacuum to try and trigger the breaker and tested both the bathroom's outlet and the front outlet well he could not replicate the outlet's problem we even got a electrical lawn mower out and tried for more amps-nothing! <br /> In light of all this the tech was extremely professionally even though we could not trigger the outlet tripping he never made me feel I was wasting his time.  I believe the electrical problem might have gotten fixed when they moved (Mr. Electric)  the washer to its own breaker previously  all three outlets might have been on a shared breaker.  I just didn't want to mess with electricity which was way I put the service all in.  Not having the thermostat installed is still an issue but this wasn't the tech's fault nor being late in light of all this I did not get charged for the call. <br />"

"SALT installed 3 exterior light fixtures. Treyvon was my electrical technician. And he had a second tech with him (I don&#39;t remember his name). They were both very courteous, knowledgable, and thorough. Trey checked in with me often during the work, explaining what his next step was and asking if I wanted him to proceed. I also liked that when the job was completed he double-checked all his work, each step, to make sure it was done correctly. They made sure that all switches in electric panel were back on when finished and all lights were operating before they left. Trey answered all my questions. I gave 4.5 stars only because he left two marks on the wall around the plate he installed."

"No games, good prices, set prices. Ken is awesome, professional, and efficient. I got a whole home surge installed, two new outlets in the garage, and rewiring another outlet. This is after other electricians told me to buy my own parts, and their labor could be 3-5 hours."

"The technician that came to my home was very professional and completed the work efficiently and with great communication. The technician fixed a circuit that wasn’t working in my home and he did such a great job that I decided to get some things added to my home and the technician was able to give me a good price and did the work no problem. They added some outlets and some lights to some areas I had been wanting to add."

FAQs for electrical switches, outlets & fixtures install or repair projects in Manor, TX

To select and hire an electrician for your light switch installation, start by evaluating candidates as you would for any skilled position. Ask detailed questions, request a written quote, and verify their licensing credentials. This careful screening prevents unexpected fees and ensures every aspect of the installation, including any drywall repairs, complies with code.

A light switch can malfunction due to compromised wiring or overheating conditions. Faulty connections and excess heat diminish the switch’s performance. If you hear crackling, popping, or hissing sounds when toggling the switch, this indicates active electrical faults that pose a safety hazard and demand immediate professional inspection. Prompt attention prevents further damage and ensures reliable operation.

Installing a light switch takes 30 minutes or less, on average. The installation time depends on the switch type, with dimmer switches requiring additional time compared to standard on-off switches. While the hardware replacement might be completed in 15 minutes, it's essential to adhere to safety protocols, like turning off the circuit breaker and verifying there's no power, for a safe and code-compliant installation.
