"Our tank water heater stopped working during the COVID-19 shutdown, and we decided to have it replaced with a tankless heater. Tankless Concepts responded within minutes to a voicemail left on Saturday, and a detailed quote was provided based on an extensive phone conversation and photos that I provided, including discussion of anything that could arise unexpectedly. The installers arrived on Monday, and the system was installed exactly according to plan, with the job completed in less than 5 hours. They arranged upgrade of the gas meter with Washington Gas (on the same day), removed and disposed of the old tank, arranged for utility rebates, and provided forms to apply for tax credits. The installation was done "contactless" during this pandemic. Everybody was highly responsive and professional."

"I'm not going to bad mouth them because I've used them for decades. I just didn't like the last visit and I'm not going to use them anymore. I'm in an old house and I know the plumbing has got to go sometime but the upstairs whenever I flushed the commode or took a shower the water would come down which means that the risers on the main floor I guess weren't working. The ceiling on the main floor where there was flooding and all of that needed to be replaced. It would have been a large expense and I decided I didn't want to do it because when you start working with old plumbing, this is about 80 years old, that could do a domino effect and you end up having to replace the entire plumbing system. So, anyway, I later on opted not to do anything but what bothered me was he had to chisel away the ceiling. In chiseling away part of the ceiling in the kitchen to see what the problem was he clogged up the little basin in the bath.  He didn't clean up anything and of course I couldn't use the clogged up bath because all this plaster had gone into it. It sort of turned me off. They were sort of vague on how much this all was going to cost. Having them come out was one thing. Anyway, that's why I don't want to use them again. I did call them and tell them they needed to come and unclog the pipes. They did come back out and they did get all the plaster out of the basin. I just thought it was kind of tacky. If they are going to leave something like that am I going to trust them to do thousands and thousands of dollars of work on plumbing?"

"It turned out great. It looks brand new, because it's such a perfect match. I think they do high quality work in a timely fashion. They are very good communicating and always let us know when they will be done and are done when they say they will be. They have even offered us loaner cars before. I think they are really, really good. If there is a part that they have to replace they give you the part. I think this is really honest, because you can see that the part needed to be replaced."

"It went very well. The toilet had to be taken off to remove the clog. There was analysis required to determine what the issue was and were the clog was located. The plumber was very professional and completed the task within 2 hours. He also shared let me know what caused the issue and gave me tips on how to prevent this happening again. I highly recommend this company, they are friendly, understanding and responsive with good customer service."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Marbury, MD

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
