He probably could have gotten by with the repairs he did on the first visit, but he thought that if he could obtain a few additional parts he could come back and give us an even better final product. The price was very good, too. It was as low or lower than any other service person we contacted. (Incidentally, the second visit added only $25 above Eddie's original estimate - probably barely enough to cover his gasoline costs!). "I had a company come in and clean my dryer duct/vent in February of 2015.  When I began having problems with my clothes taking a long time to dry, I thought it was an issue with the dryer.  I called my home warranty company and the appliance technician that came out said the dryer was fine, did a cursory review and stated the ducts were clogged.  I contacted Pope's and they came out the following day.  The technician that came out was excellent!!!!  He tried to unclog the duct but there was no air coming out.  He did a very thorough inspection and found that the duct was actually disconnected as a result of the previous cleaning.  Identifying the problem took some effort on his part because I have a finished basement and he only had a very narrow unfinished area in which to try and locate the problem.  Unfortunately, he was unable to reconnect the pipe without taking out a large section of drywall which the company would not be able to do.  He suggested that I contact a handyman.  In addition to actually trying to resolve the issue, the company did NOT charge for the service call.  If I was able to get this type of customer service without spending a dime, imagine the quality of paid service!!!!!  I will definitely use this company in the future.

I purchased the Angie's List Big Deal for 6 hours of Handyman Labor for $250.

I have 2 other Angie's List Handyman Big Deal experiences (with other Handyman companies, who were all highly rated on AL), as well as assorted other workers over the years, to compare with my experience today.  The other companies were fine, and I have actually tried to schedule them for other work, but the other companies would either never call back, or else they were just too busy with AL Big Deals.  What's up with that, by the way? You'd think the goal would be to become a regular worker, without having to continually discount their work with Big Deals.

Don DeWitt was by far, and I mean stratosphere far, the absolute best handyman.

It was easy to reach him, and to get on his schedule within the week.  So what if he arrived 20 minutes late . . he gave me and extra hour free to compensate!

The quality of his work was matched by his professionalism: clean work area, no borrowing of my tools -- he had everything including oddball spare parts, worked continually with no breaks for 7 hours!, worked very fast, and was very pleasant and thoughtful.  He came up with smart, inventive solutions whenever parts didn't fit or situations didn't go as expected.  (and that happens with just about any home project, right?)  It was so obvious that he has tremendous experience and skills.

I will absolutely call him for my next to-do list!

"Rorer's home improvement painted two interior rooms and repaired some damaged wood on the outside of my house. They were very reasonably priced. They did a good job on the painting inside and the outside wood repair/paint match on a garage door. The only issue I had was that they did not match up the rubber trim around the garage door and left a gap in it. I would use them again for standard jobs because overall, the price was very good and everything else was fine."

"The representatives were courteous and professional completing the work within a reasonable amount of time. They quickly identified the problem and worked to resolve it to our satisfaction. The cover on the master bath outet was cracked by the contractor who either did not notice the crack or failed to mention it. Overall, I appreciated the work and would have Sam and Sons return for future electrical repairs."
