"Chris and the team at QBS completed a basement drainage system project for us that included demo along the perimeter of our basement walls and installation of a new sump pump. The work was completed in an extremely efficient fashion in just 5 days. Throughout the entire process, the team at QBS was kind, hard-working and polite. They were very mindful of the impact to our home and took extreme care to ensure everything went as planned. Chris was a pleasure to meet during the estimating process and I got the sense that he really cared about the customer and was both passionate and dedicated to securing the business. That went a long way with us and made the difference when comparing quotes from other companies. I strongly recommend QBS for project work and look forward to seeing their business grow in the immediate future."

"They corrected issues with insufficient drainage of water from downspouts by installing drains to release water much further from the house. Water had been leaking past the water main and ground loops for our ground source heat pump into our basement. The only issue was they didn’t include tamping, seeding etc. for where they trenched the new drain lines, so you need ti do that yourself or contract another provider."

Small jobs welcome

"We hired Travis to straighten a 24' brick planter that had developed a severe bow and had motar issues. Travis and his crew were prompt, professional, and finished the work on time. Even with heavy rain delaying the project, the office called each day until they could start. When finished, the planter looked better than when first built. Also, the clean up was amazing. One would think work and customer service of this quality woukd be expensive. But, no, the cost was very reasonable. We highly recommend Travis / Bucklew Basement Waterproofing and Masony Repair."

"Had a new drainage system installed around the perimeter of my basement and the vapor barrier installed on my walls. When I called to set up the estimate, it was quick and painless. The representative showed up on time and was up front about the solutions for my basement. The pricing came in around the same as another company but I liked Stay Dry's plan a little more. The guys showed up on time the day of installation. They did a great job. They were professional and the completed work looks good. I have high hopes that everything was installed correctly and Iâ ll have a basement safe from any issues for years to come."

"Chris as always has been very professional and knowledgeable about what he does. He checked the underground drainage system the installed probably over a year ago. He immediately put the camera in the underground drainage system to see where the problem was and discovered the end of the system was grown over and clogged. Chris immediately identified and uncovered and unclogged the area and immediately the issue was resolved. I would highly recommend Chris and Eco Plumbers to anyone"

"Had a small backup on a basement floor drain.  Called Mr. Rooter on Sunday, they stuck to the time frame given, were very quick arriving when they called to say they were on the way.  The technician was very friendly, gave me an estimate if I wanted the drain cabled.  But was honest and good enough to let me know that was needed and I could just run hot water to the drain to see if it would back up again.  It didn't and he gave a few suggestions for future cleaning/maintenance and was on his way.  Was a very easy and refreshing experience.

"Overall, we are not convinced that this installation was worth the cost or disruption and the experience did not meet the expectations we had based on our conversations with the sales rep. While an interior waterproofing system made a lot of sense to address our issues, once work started, it was clear that our house already had an underdrain system in place, but the crew continued demolition and installation. As part of the work, Stay Dry required replacement of our one-year-old sump pump (and battery backup) with their system and charged extra for the battery backup. The crew worked quickly, but caused some unnecessary damage to our finished basement walls and the concrete finish was less smooth than expected. The third star is provided for the follow-up visit by their customer service team to clean up some of those shortcomings."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Marysville, OH

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
