"Had other options but I got lucky with the experienced plumber sent to my house. In 2018 Ben Franklin plumbing made huge mistakes on a new water line install and made a mess of everything. Mr. Rooter was able to quickly identify and fix the problem with my main water line for thousands less than other big national chains."

"Mike & crew were beyond my expectations! Needing septic repair and trying to find a competent and reasonably priced professional is harder than it should be, until I found MKB Plumbing and Septic. They took the time to listen to me, assess the situation and give me an immediate quote. Work was performed the next day and I couldn't be happier with the results! I would recommend this company for any plumbing or septic problem. Mike, the owner, is knowledgeable, professional and a cut above any other plumbing contractor I've dealt with in the past. Call them!"

"We recently had this company replace our original 1000 gallon septic tank with a 1500 gallon upgrade, along with an additional drain field line and they did a great job. If you want people who are skilled, hardworking and honest to handle your project, then I recommend that you give NC Septic & Pump your consideration. Their communication is excellent and they are very easy and pleasant to work with."

"Brannon and Jacob were professional, honest, hard working, and did an excellent job. They replaced the entire sewer line and water line in 1 day, and also replaced hose faucets and a toilet valve. They were very patient in answering all of my questions about the process. Excellent value for the money."

"Had them remove and install a new toilet for my bathroom. Aaron and his crew came to do the work. I had bought my own toilet at lowes and apparently got talked into buying a really difficult toilet to install. They were nice enough to honor the price despite the difficult toilet and did a great job on the install. I really appreciated them wearing shoe covers inside our home as well. Will be using them again for future jobs."

Small jobs welcome

"This is the fourth time I have used this company over the past 20yrs, I have done a room addition, replacing the main pipes that come to the house and most recently a leak from an upstairs bathroom. His work ethic is wonderful and his pricing is fair. He communicates the issue and his recommendation and allows you to make the informed decision. I have referred him to others that were pleased with their work."

"Jacob and Tim are amazing. I am writing to share our experience for the job they did with the gas line piping installation and water connection at our home. Tim took extra time to explain the scope of work and provided a clear understandable estimate. ( labor, materials, permits, warranty, payment terms and lastly affordable compared to others). NO upsell of services or get you to join their club. Their quality of work was exceptional, and we were impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail throughout the entire process. It is a relief to have such an important project completed safely and efficiently. We truly appreciate their expertise and will certainly use them again and recommend their services to anyone in need of a skilled plumber."

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Charlotte, NC

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
