"I am posting this review to share my personal experience with 128 Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric. Everything below reflects events that occurred in my home and my personal observations and opinions based on those events. My wife and I hired 128 Plumbing for an oil to gas conversion and related heating work, including the installation of a Lochinvar WHB 110 gas boiler. The total financed cost was approximately $25,371 after rebates, with an additional roughly $2,000 for a gas line related to a stove conversion. After the installation, we experienced repeated operational issues with the system. These included multiple boiler lockouts that resulted in periods without heat. When the system was running, temperatures in certain rooms were inconsistent. One bedroom used for sleeping experienced significant temperature fluctuations that made it difficult to maintain consistent comfort. "We were in the market to convert off oil and switch to a heat pump system. CRM Green Energy Consulting helped us every step of the way. They arrived on time and were very professional during the home assessment process. We agreed to the proposal and set up a time for installation the following week. Throughout the whole process CRM was communicating with us on progress. There was a placement issue for one of our mini-splits and one of CRM’s Carpentry team members came out and opened a wall and patched/painted like they were never there. Super friendly team members and very knowledgeable on green energy and home heating efficiency. At the end of the project they sat us down and taught us how to use the phone app for our GE mini split unit. They helped us fill out of MassSave rebate form as well! "Diagnosis and repair were straightforward and the talented Mike, who has done other great work for us on our ACs, had a replacement pump in his truck. Swapped over in under an hour. Cost of the repair was quite high, mainly due to very high price they charged for the pump. A Taco pump that I could buy for $175 was priced on this repair at more than $500. I get that it was an urgent situation and I’m happy to pay reasonably for the response but that mark-up bothered me. I called the office, had a long talk with the owner; sadly, she offered no consideration at all. Yes, it’s hard to find and keep skilled techs, but now seems that most HVAC firms have a business model like a car dealer’s service dept, far more corporate, less flexible or customer-considerate."
