Quote was quite a bit higher than I expected, but I learned from neighbors that chain link fence costs for small jobs are quite high (based on their experience with quotes for small chain link fence jobs). Very professional, high quality work. They were able to fit me in pretty quickly (just a couple weeks compared to 6-12 weeks with other companies). Highly recommend."

"Time consuming but worth it. They understood Ann Arbor's local ordinances better than any other bidder, and were the most competitive bidder (if not by much, but they still were the lowest bidder). They made multiple trips to ensure the estimate was accurate and took pains to find a fencing solution that would comply with Ann Arbor's convoluted rules, yet be both functional and aesthetic. Multiple install trips as well, to deal with tree removal issues and weather problems. Final installed fence is beautiful. We likely will follow up because the locks installed on the two gates installed are proving difficult to manage, but I fully expect this issue to be resolved satisfactorily. (We have not yet contacted them about this, so it's not their fault that this issue remains unresolved - it's been a complicated year for us and, having worked with them, we trust in their ability to resolve this concern later. If we are wrong about this, we'll follow up on our review.) We found Upright Fence through Angie's List, and it was a good recommendation. We would do it all again exactly as it happened if given the option. We are so relieved to have the old, collapsing wooden fence removed and a new, vinyl fence - properly installed along the lot boundaries. Our thanks to the Upright team...we can understand why they've been in business so long. Experience does indeed count for something."

"M. Bland did a terrific job. Very responsive to emails, phone and texts and kept us up-to-date on permit, materials, weather delays. Showed up on day he indicated and worked until job was finished. Very conscientious with work, every day ended with him using power blower to clean up any sawdust or other materials. We would definitely recommend as the final install looks great and gates work well. All this after three years of trying to find a competent fence installer that would do what they said. "The whole process went wonderfully. Rachel fielded all the set up questions and and logistics wonderfully. We had Joel come to the house and draw us up a plan for our deck which is a raised deck (2nd story on the back of the home). The drawing was simple and plain just like we requested and yet very detailed. Once the install started, everything went really quick. The holes went in well, a very good and quiet crew got that all situated quickly which was not easy given the huge bolder they ran into and the solid clay that is my back yard. The framing crew came in and got the framing done in a day and a half or so. The final crew installed everything else in about 2 and a half days or so. There are no breaks in the surface boards, making for a completely clean and elegant surface. Everything is flush and straight. The stairway is well lit and solid. The framing is solid, we had 8 people up there and it doesn't shake even the slightest bit. The final touches are routed, smooth and pieced together perfectly. All the miter joints are perfect as well. The individual crews did all of this in about a week with a rain delay one day and me asking questions the ENTIRE time. Every crew kindly answered all my questions and Joel our sales rep did the same ensuring everything went well throughout the process and passed inspection. Joel even fixed the smallest detail when a cord for the lights wasn't quite covered perfectly. The deck is perfect, its added value and functionality to my home, never mind that it looks fabulous. "The project went very smoothly and quickly from quote to finished fence. Tony responded within hours to my request for a quote. He gave many fencing options with the ability to see the options at South Lyon Fence Co., Inc. The product took approximately 3 weeks to manufacture and deliver. The fence was installed in two days. I knew that Tony's schedule would fill up fast, so I contacted him in early April to get a place reserved on his list."

"I was told that they are in Southwest Detroit and that I should look for someone in my own area (I'm 20-25 miles from there). It seems this is the way it goes with Angie's List. All the contractors are too busy or have very small service areas. I will probably go back to using other ways to find contractors, so I can find someone who is available to do the work."

"Deck install went vey well. Jim and his crew were very picky about getting all the details right including spending a couple hours making sure deck was perfectly level. Install of the fence took place at a later date. There was a delay caused by the problem of finding a fence vendor that could supply the type and color of fence we wanted, and a delay getting it shipped here. There was also a delay dues to CedarWotks being very busy (I think they overbook a little and weather can always add to the problem). The same crew showed up to install the fence (they even showed up on a Sunday ). All in all,even though it took a while to get the project completed, it was worth the wait. I have received several complements on the deck since then. A job well done."
