"The bathrooms now look new, are easy to clean.  Matt was agreeable to making minor adjustments once they started the project.  He listened to my suggestions and he also suggested some improvements that he thought would enhance the bathrooms.  Homeowners needing to remodel their bathrooms should give Matt a call!  Only caution is that the jobs produce a lot of dust, so take precautions to protect against the dust.  Matt's estimate was far lower than the big companies that probably have a lot of overhead.  I would consider them again for future jobs."

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

"I recently moved into a rental townhouse and found some things that, although not necessary, would be nice to have done. Since Rick had built handicap access ramps for my husband and had done such a fantastic job, he was the only call I made. We could not use the garage door opener because the bracket to the overhead door had been broken by the previous tenant. I had a Pella storm door from my old home that I wanted on my front door and the gate to the backyard fence had a padlock on it (and we were given no key!) as well as being misaligned. I made one phone call to Rick and scheduled a time for him to come do the work. He arrived precisely on time and started work immediately. First, he put a new bracket on the overhead door and reattached the garage door opener. Then, he installed the storm door and made sure it was working properly. Finally, he cut the lock off the gate, removed the hinges, realigned the door and re-secured the hinges.
Rick worked quickly and efficiently, but also took the time to be friendly and courteous. I still have some other things on my "honey-do" list and I will only make that one phone call to Rick "The Handyman" Holdridge, because he has proven to me that he is honest and trustworthy and that he is highly skilled and experienced."

"He was awesome.  He called back, but he was working in Reed field, North Carolina and he could not get to us for a couple of days.  By the time, he got to us we had already gotten the other estimates, and we were pleased with him.  Hampton guy was great.  He was really quick to get back to us, but he had other projects that he had already lined up.  The experience was very satisfactory.  He was very courteous, and prompt.  He was very honest in saying that he cannot get to us, and if we needed to have this work done now, then we need to have to get somebody else.  I appreciated that."

"These guys were all very professional and approachable. All of my concerns were taken seriously and handled accordingly. Justin made me feel at ease with the project as i was worried about it interfering with my daily life inside the home. He made sure that it was done quickly and kept the house extremely clean. Patched a couple small holes in the wall and put new shingles on the older section of my home. I will be calling them to re do my bathroom this winter!"

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Millville, WV

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
