"Audio-Video Alternatives did a fantastic job installing and setting up my home theater system and stereo equipment in my newly finished basement. Carlos was amazing and went above and beyond to get the system set up and ensured I understood how it all worked. Carlos knows his stuff, has deep knowledge of all the various types of equipment available and has very competitive pricing. I never felt he was trying to over sell me. Instead, he took the time to understand what my needs and wants were and shared with me all my available options. He was very thorough providing pricing and gave me a very detailed quote (there were no surprise fees or hidden charges). Once I made my decision to move forward, their installation process went so smoothly and was right on schedule. I should note that I had turned to Audio -Video Alternative after having a bad experience at a big box store. My only regret was not going to Audio-Video first. If you’re considering installing a stereo & home theater system, call Audio-Video Alternatives and don’t do what I did waste your time talking to someone else. Every time I want to kick back and listen to some music or watch a movie, I have Carlos to thank for making it all look and sound great, and for making all so easy."

"I had used Boston HiFi in the past to do A/V work at my old residence - and everything went super smooth. When I was ready to have some TVs mounted and in-wall speakers installed at my new home - calling Boston HiFi was a no-brainer. The owner (Lee) basically treats his clients like they are friends or family. He's a really nice guy - easy to communicate with - and his crew enjoy doing this stuff for a living. Boston HiFi has access to all the top A/V brands - I decided to purchase 2 60" Samsung TVs and some KEF audio equipment. The prices for the equipment were in line with any discount shops on the Internet. I was concerned about having to cut into a certain wall, but Lee showed me exactly what he proposed to do and after that - I felt confortable. After everything was done - you can't tell that wires are going through the particular wall in question. Fair pricing, great service - easy to work with.
Great job guys!

"The scheduling and price quote via phone had problems. I called to change the scheduled date over 24 hours in advance but they did not tell the installer, who then showed up one day early. Also, although I told them that I had a 60” TV, I was quoted the price for a smaller TV. This had to be corrected when the tech arrived. The tech was prompt, professional, flexible, and friendly. Did a great job."

"This was an Angie's List deal for $99 for 2 hours of work. New England Home Theater did an excellent job mounting my tv for me. I had the tv and the mount already, I just needed someone with the proper tools and experience. They were very responsive; setting up and confirming my appointment was a breeze. The installer showed up exactly on time, and was able to get the work done with an unfamiliar mount in no time. Would definitely work with these guys again.

"JJL moved the electrical outlet and put an HDMI through the ceiling from my AV receiver to the projector. It completely changed the way I do home theater. JJL was punctual, professional, and clean. JJL also looked at an outdoor electrical outlet that was shorted. They fixed it and prepped a floodlight mount that was broken. Overall, a great experience.

"Brain was amazing! He put the light together and taught us how it worked and then installed it all within an hour. He followed all COVD precautions and yet was personable and easy to chat with. It was very easy to communicate with the company and the pricing was transparent and fair. I will definitely hire them again"

"I purchased a big deal for 8 hours of electrical labor over 2 years prior to the service being performed. The delay was on my end due to personal reasons. They were gracious enough to honor the full value of the deal due to my circumstance. I asked them to work on three issues: a failed 3-way switch, an unsightly CATV wire running along the ceiling through 2 rooms of the house into a 3 season porch and installation of a new floodlight to the back yard. Each of the three issues had an unexpected variable pop up. They were able to diagnose the issue with the 3-way switch was related to a faulty wire in an outlet that was on the same circuit but in a different room. Once they were able to fix the issue with the outlet, they replaced the faulty switches so that the 3-way switch was operable once again. While I knew one outlet was out related to the switch, I forgot to mention it to them which would have been very helpful to them in diagnosing and resolving the issue even quicker. The next item they worked on was the CATV wire. They quickly determined that the wire needed to be routed through a different bay in the wall than the cable provider had punched through. They rerouted the wire and fished it through the basement rather than through a bay that would have required drilling through a structural beam to get into the garage. Since the main issue we had was the unsightly cords, Joe suggested that I move the cable box, outlet and CATV plates to the behind the TV where it all would be hidden. This was a great idea and was well worth extra time and expense. While moving the outlet to behind the TV rather than at the baseboard, they noticed the existing outlet was overloaded. They fixed that issue by turning the 2 outlet plate into a 4 outlet plate thereby bringing the outlet up to code. The last issue they tackled was adding an outside floodlight. We had an existing switch and 2-armed floodlight off of one corner of our screened in porch facing the yard and wanted to add another 2-armed floodlight on the opposite corner. I had initially wanted the second light run through the soffit cavity but Joe looked at it and noted that the structure of the porch would not lend itself to that. He gave me two options to choose from: I could use an existing outlet and have the light be a motion sensor light or I could run a PVC conduit pipe outside from the existing floodlight box to the new floodlight box. I went with option 2 and was very happy with the result. He took care to make sure the boxes were in the same spot in relation to the corner on either side of porch (they look perfectly symmetrical) and used a conduit expansion joint so that fluctuations in temperature will not damage the PVC tube. There was a disconnect on the date of the service - I thought it was for Tuesday 24th and he had it as Wednesday 25th. Thinking back, I think he said Tuesday the 25th, I focused on Tuesday and he focused on the 25th. While it didn't bother me, he and his assistant had what some may consider an unprofessional banter. He offered the advice that I switch out the outlets in the house due to age and how they were wired (back-stabbed vs screwed in). He mentioned that it was an easy homeowner repair if I had the time to do it safely and carefully. He provided an itemized invoice with all supplies listed which are included in the total service cost. I would certainly look to them for future electrical work."
