He explained what was to be done and that it should take about an hour. Ted replaced my springs, balanced the door, and then said he would like to tune up the rollers and hinges- which is exactly what my old noisy garage door needed. I had my 4 1/2 year old and 2 1/2 year old with me and Ted was great with the both of them- also explaining to them what he was doing. The boys really enjoyed watching and asking Ted questions! Tal, the garage door tech, gave me a very reasonable estimate of just under $300 to replace the damage door rail and all 10 rollers. He as able to complete the whole repair in about one hour and the door functions smoothly and quietly, which had been a problem!"

"My garage door would not close and was stuck open with both cables on either side of the door unspooled from the drum and essentially locking the door at 3ft open. I used Angi to look up nearby contractors and A1 came up. They contacted me very quickly and when I acknowledged I needed service, they were on site within the hour! The end result is that they repaired my issue so that I can use the door again. To get to that point - they walked me through what they planned to do. Midway through the repair, they did ask to meet with me to recommend fully replacing all bars, springs, cables and tracks (for about $1600-$1800), but I declined as I was not ready to make that large a decision and may want to change the garage door in the future. There was a bit of back and forth on whether they would tighten the springs which were insufficiently wound, but they did in the end. I would work with them again. I'd prefer full discussion on what they can do to finish the requested job first."
