"Shortly after the initial contact, Mr. Will Williamson was performing an estimate and we discussed how to best accomplish the job - which was a to paint the whole exterior of my 2-story colonial and do some minor wood siding and window repair. After approval, the Top Gun team was on site within a day, doing preparation for the next day when painting began. The Top Gun Team was staffed by seasoned professionals and the results show it. They were responsive to our needs and committed to doing a great job. We are very pleased with quality of the job and the quality of the people working for Top Gun. If we need another painting job in the Richmond area, I will call Will Williamson and the Top Gun Team."

"Goodman B. Duke built front and back porches on our duplex, and made some interior modifications. They were professional and competent, and made some excellent suggestions--we couldn't be happier with the results. What's more, they did the interior modifications on very short notice, and finished ahead of our drop dead date. We highly recommend Goodman B. Duke General Contractor Inc."

"I contacted N. Chasen and Son to replace our shutters. While working on the quote for the shutters via email, a wind storm tore some trim off our house, so I asked if they could include that as part of the work (as well as replacing some siding and a louver). They sent someone out the next week to check the shutter dimensions and determine what was needed for the trim, siding, and louver. They suggested repainting the louvers instead of replacing, and sent me a quote for all the work and to get it scheduled. On the scheduled date, Marcus was on time and very friendly. He walked me through everything they were going to do and explained that the shutters were on backorder and would be in later in the week, but he replaced the trim and painted one of the louvers (he needed a longer ladder for the second). He had to return a few times to finish the work, but he made sure it was all completed and the quality is fantastic. I'm very pleased with my experience with N. Chasen and Son and will definitely hire again when I have need."

"I am so glad I selected Professional Home Services. Mike and his crew conduct themselves in a professional manner from beginning to the end. They really know their stuff when it comes to roofing and other home repairs. After replacing my roof almost a year later I had another issue, my gutter fell due to a snow storm. I called Mike and he was there to help in no time. The quality of the work was very impressive. When it came to being prompt, honestly and professionalism, I could have not choose a better contractor. Deborah B."

"Ken is a pleasure to work with! He has a calm, assured demeanor that I have to assume comes from the confidence he has in his team to do the job well. Ken responded promptly to my questions and comments throughout the process - I always felt heard. I already have plans to use them for my next project."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Montpelier, VA

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
