"Highly recommend Disciple Masonry. I had stone pointing completed at the front of my house, chimney repointed, crown replaced, and cap added. Everyone on the team is professional, responsive, and courteous. Nathan on the office side does a great job with follow-up and keeping you informed. Charles came out to give me a quote, he was very knowledgeable, spent time answering questions, and providing options. The work-crew, Scott, Jake, and Derek did a great job working together to ensure everything was completed in a quality manner and were experts in their skill. Scott took time to speak with me on both days, followed up on my questions, shared pictures from roof advantage, and took time to explain everything. Scott was helpful and adept in his profession. Overall stellar masonry workmanship, and a great team"

"We had a great experience with Grayboyes for our window and front door install. They were professional, timely, and the installation process was quick. We’ve enjoyed using their services that a year after our first project, we called them again for additional window replacements on another part of the house."

"Andy, Rob, Jeremiah and Dave were pleasant to work with and did excellent work. They give great attention to detail and take pride in their work. They matched the color of the mortar to the original on our historic home. Damaged bricks were repaired to perfection. Previous flaws are imperceptible. And, after cleaning, the 100 year old brick looks like new."

"John has done a nice job retiling our powder room. As others have mentioned he is very busy but will work as long as needed to get the job done right (our 45sq/ft job ended up being a bit more involved once old tile was removed). Will upload photos once grout is sealed and buffed in a couple days."

"WOW! These guys were awesome. They quickly got me a very professional estimate. The overall price was similar to the other folks I contacted ($400-425), but their estimate included my back patio and front walkway, which the others did not. I liked that they evaluated what I really needed. They two guys who came out went above and beyond and also cleaned up some brick on one side of my house that wasn't in the estimate and just overall did a really thorough and amazing job. My house was literally green before and now looks perfect. I'd give them an A+ if I could."

"I had a recommendation from a family friend for Ed Bennis Chimney Repair and Masonry.  I needed stone pointing done on a retaining wall and stone porch.  As soon as I contacted them for a quote, they were very responsive and actually made an appointment to look over the work with me and talk it through. I got a quote from another mason for the same job and they did not meet with me before providing the quotation. <br /> After I received both cost estimates from the two contractors I contacted, I decided to use Ed Bennis because of the recommendation I had received and because I believed they knew the job better since I had talked it over with their estimator.  I called up and scheduled the work over the phone, which was about a month out on their schedule.  This is the one thing I would do differently in the future. I should have mailed back a signed copy of the estimate as there was a line item on the cost estimate that I opted not to proceed with.  I verbally mentioned this over the phone, but I think overall for the communication, things would have worked out more smoothly if I had sent it in writing. <br /> Before the work started, they dropped off a sample board so I could choose what color mortar I thought best matched the existing so I wouldn't end up with bright contrasting mortar of the new work next to the old. <br /> The workers did a really nice job. I was impressed right away with how good the work looked.  I did have a dispute about some of the work performed, but it was resolved well with Mr. Bennis and I am happy with the entire experience I had with Ed Bennis Chimney Repair and Masonry.  They conducted themselves very professionally.  Mr. Bennis was extremely fair with the resolution to the issue.  The issue had nothing to do with the quality of the work and is related more to communication than anything else.  I would certainly use Ed Bennis again and recommend him to family and friends. <br />"

"Ron, the company president, came out to give me an estimate. He was very upfront and thorough, and I felt comfortable with what he told me. He seemed a little taken aback when I asked for a written contract, but wrote one up on the spot anyway. They called to follow up a week later, and I placed my order, along with the required $500 deposit. On installation day, the installers showed up on time. However, they didn't seem to speak much English, and I had to inform them they were looking at the wrong windows. With that cleared up, they set to work - without much of a break - for about 6 hours, installing the new glass blocks. I was impressed by their work ethic, but when they had questions the language barrier seemed pretty steep. The previous owner had run some wires through the old window sills, wires we had since disconnected. The installers, unfortunately, didn't ask before running them through the mortar. I noticed before the mortar dried, and was able to take the wires out and re-pack the mortar. Overall, they did a nice job, and the windows seem very securely installed."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Morrisville, PA

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
