MCP Chimney & Masonry installed two stainless steel liners in my chimney - one for my fireplace and one for my furnace.

They also repaired the chimney crown and parged the smoke chamber.

The price was fair and competitive.

It was necessary to cut a hole in the exterior brick in order to access one of the flues and when finished his masonry crew matched the brick perfectly. You cannot tell where the brick was cut.

Everything in the work area was protected so when they finished I didn?t even have any dust to clean up.

"I purchased a roof inspection and tune-up theough Angie’s list. I was contacted quickly to set up the appointment and provided a reminder prior thereto. The technician was Mike G. who called about 10 minutes before arrival. He explained what he would do, then proceeded to inspect the attic and roof, making some repairs to the roof as necessay. When completed, we sat down to review pictures and discuss options. Mike G. explained things clearly but did not pressure us to do anything at this time. When the time comes to repair or replace the roof, we will definitely contact American Home Contractors."

"We received four bids to paint the exterior trim and shutters on our home including a color change.  With the exception of one very low bid from a painter with no reviews on Angie's list who happened to be in the neighborhood, we chose among those with an 'A' rating who were in our vicinity.  All three companies provided prompt estimates and George's Painting Inc. was not only the lowest, but also identified more needed carpentry work (replacing weather damaged wood) than the others.  They worked with us to accomplish the prep work and painting in spite of the winter weather and made sure to use paint that was rated for use down to 30 degrees (more expensive) rather than the usual 50 degree rating (which would have been a mistake given that the temperature never got above the mid 40s). 
They have a clear focus on customer satisfaction and provided good advice throughout the process about options including PVC versus wood for trim repair and the timing of powerwashing the siding.  We decided to postpone the powerwashing to the spring on their advice since the mildew repellant will be more effective when the temperature warms and would have to be repeated if we did it now.  They handled an initial error in color selection (using the existing color when our request was clearly for a new color) very professionally without any resistance, providing two coats of the new color and minimizing lost time. Their team was attentive to detail and made sure to address our needs before completion of the job.
The quality of the work was excellent and we are very happy with the results.  We rate all of the components as 'A (excellent)' except for the price.  Our rating of this as a 'B (good)' does not reflect on their pricing which again, was the best of the reasonable estimates, but rather on the cost of house painting in this area which is high. 
We would recommend this company to others and intend to use their services again with the interior painting of our home.

The latest involved renovating a garden room, which included repairing and painting walls, hanging new doors, re-plumbing a sink, installing recessed lights, rebuilding an outdoor stoop, and lots more. "The technicians redid the bricks so that you couldn't even tell they were repaired. It looked beautiful. They put in a new liner in the chimney and waterproofed it. They redid the inside of the fireplace to bring it up to code and put in a chain that easily opens and closes the flue. It looks so good and easy that I may decide to use the fireplace again. They redid the pipes in the basement so the fumes from the boiler and hot water heater went up the chimney in the correct way. There had been water damage and they corrected the damage and closed off the hole in the wall (foundation) and made a bigger hole in the correct place so that everything was up to code. They were polite, efficient and worked very hard to get the work done in the promised two days. I have interviewed many companies and found this company to be straight-forward in telling me what they would do and didn't try to tell me they were giving me a "good deal." Rather I feel they gave me an honest estimate on what needed to be done and didn't try to pressure me into using their company. They did give me 10% off because I was an Angie's List customer. What company to use was a hard decision for me because I knew nothing about chimney repair. Because so much of the repair was inside the chimney I couldn't tell what they had done. Based on my experience I feel they did a good job. I don't have a picture of the repaired chimney but it looks great--better than it did before the bricks fell. If someone wants more detail I can copy exactly what they did from the invoice. Also, maybe the company can show a picture of the finished product. Since it is summer time I haven't had any experience using the chimney but will let you know how things work out during the winter."
