"Our septic alarm went off a week or so ago and we ignored it (hoping it would miraculously reset or something as we knew it meant expense and we are seniors on a fixed income). We started getting a stink in the back yard around the septic and the toliets weren't flushing right so I called them about 1 pm today and they said they would be out within the hour and they were. My husband went out and watched as they worked. When they opened the tank to pump it, it was literally ready to start backing up into the house! We won't ignore an alarm again. They told us about how it generally backs up to the washing machine first and then to sinks, showers, tubs, etc. and that they had just had a lady that had that happen and threw away her washer because she couldn't get the smell out. We knew we were blessed to have avoided a very costly mess. They were fast, efficient and very friendly. I had paid nearly $500 to another company simply to replace my septic pump five years ago with no pumping of the tank. When Affordable removed it, it was a plastic pump which they informed us doesn't hold up very well. It was dead. After they pumped the tank and confirmed that the pump needed to be replaced, they had to make a trip to the supply house to get a new pump and return and install it. They were back and had the job wrapped up before 4:00 PM. It wasn't cheap, but was comparable to what projected costs were on Angie's List with this kind of project. They will definitely be the first guys we will call if we ever have issues again. We highly recommend Affordable Septic!!! Thanks guys!"

"We used Pro Plumbing twice, once for service and a second time to replace my water heater. Both times they were prompt and professional. The service fee for just coming out to troubleshoot was inexpensive, which was greatly appreciated. For the installation of my water heater, their rates were competitive with other plumbers in the area. The service tech (Fletcher) was knowledgeable and explained everything in detailed. He was also patient while I asked him loads of questions, and he offered me lots of options for units and how he could install them to fit our tight closet. "Tom Mitchell was exceptional at looking at the issue we had with flooding in our basement and a few other water ingress issues. He gave a lot of advice, and was pretty much honest that what we had done to mitigate the issue (which I was familiar with flooding buildings from my work) had very much minimized what needed to be done by any company... He was nice, amused by our gumption to mop up the water, direct it, and rent some big equipment immediately. He showed me a few more tricks, and then never sent an estimate, because, I suspect that the job was too small for this company. That's fine. I'm grateful for the boatload of tips, and we got another company to follow through on the advice given. It was very clear that DR Restore is really a mid-size to large-size disaster project company, and probably aiming at projects 3K and larger... and I suspect leaning towards the larger. "Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
