"My original idea was to convert the existing CAT-5e phone system to an ethernet system. The next option was to utilize the house power wiring system to reduce cost but i wasn't interested. Perrie then suggested to go all Wi-Fi. But the existing Spectrum router could only provide 222 Mbps and 130 ms latency with 500 Mbps service, which made tactical and racing gaming no fun. Also there was very spotty service at the far ends of the house. The final system was to centrally locate the Modem and router. Then switch out the spectrum router for a TP-Link BE6500 (Dual-band WIFi 7 router Archer BE400). The entire modification, setup, and fine tuning was finished in a single afternoon. The WiFi was rock steady and strong in every room. The TP-Link WiFi-7 averaged download at 448 Mbps with a latency of 17 ms and 18 Mbps upload at 1 to 2 ms Jitter. Two of the family simultaneously ran competition racing games on Steam and -- gaming is still fun - no problems."
