"It was very good. Everything was fine. They recommended a chimney cap and left me an estimate to do that. Almost all the companies that I have used to clean the chimney have recommended a chimney cap, so they were spot on with that. It took them less than an hour to complete the job. It seems like a reliable company, and I would use them again. The price was average. They were very responsive, and they were very professional."

"These guys cared! through any obstacle that occurred a solution was quickly found to satisfy all!! Clean neat and respectful must be the motto of 5 Star. I highly recommend Jeff and his guy Sean. I had a chimney liner installed in my older home and they took care to leave it better than they found it. Some pointing was done as well at the top of the chimney that needed fix. I now look up with pride once again knowing the guys set me up for the next season change !"

"Kevin (the owner) was extremely professional and did excellent work. He removed our power vent, which was hooked to an oil burning furnace. He then added a new stainless steel chimney of the best quality at a very reasonable cost to us.
He gave us a discount as our neighbor had his chimney done at the same time.
I would hire him again without reservations.

"My wife and I hired Jason approximately two years ago to repoint our chimney and replace some bricks that he assessed as problematic before adding a screen porch onto our house (the chimney runs through the porch). This is not an inexpensive job. We also brought Jason back to add new lead flashing to the chimney when the porch was being built. After the screen porch was added, we noticed several leaks in the porch roof coming from the chimney area. We originally thought the leaks were due to a step-flashing issue. The contractor who built the porch was extremely responsive and assessed the roof and step-flashing and was unable to determine a leak due to a roofing issue. As the screen porch made it easier to access the upper part of the chimney, I went up on the roof and it was evident that Jason missed repointing several joints and despite sealing the chimney we had moss growing out of many joints. We subsequently noticed the roof on the older part of our house was failing and we ended up doing an entire roof replacement. Before the new roof, we had Jason come back out to fix some of the joints he missed. He was extremely difficult to get in touch with. We had to get in touch with him through the contractor who built the screen porch. He promised to come back and seal those joints which he never did. After the new roof, new ice and water, and new step-flashing around the chimney, we still had the leaks. The new roofer ran several hose tests and determined we had a problem with the chimney. After reinspecting, it was obvious that many joints still lacked sufficient mortar repair. We have kept Jason informed throughout the process, but he never returns our e-mails and is completely unresponsive. I spent hours on the roof myself sealing joints, adding mortar, and then resealing the entire chimney. The chimney has not leaked again since my work. Here are Jason’s own written words that he has not honored, “Yes I garuntee (sic) all my work with a ten year warranty. And again the estimate is as if I were approaching my own home so the idea is you don’t need to worry about your chimney again other than cleaning the flues.” In short, we trusted Jason with an expensive job and when we had an issue, he was entirely unresponsive. We even gave Jason an opportunity to respond to this review before posting. He did not respond. We are giving Jason three stars to be fair as we believe he did a relatively good job on the lower portion of our chimney. Moreover, our situation seemed to be a difficult situation to assess. However, our experience is that Jason will not respond if you have an issue, and the upper portion of our chimney was poorly done. Additionally, as the expert, it was Jason’s job to properly assess our chimney. We should not have had to do any of the work ourselves (or paid for additional materials), and Jason should have given the same level of detail to the upper third of our chimney as the lower third. It is worth noting that Jason was very good at communicating when he was bidding the job and throughout the job. If you hire Jason and have a problem with his work, you should likely not expect a response or remedy from him."

"They did a great job. They solved all the problems I had with the chimney and it’s been working perfectly ever since. They also fixed a problem on the roof around the chimney; they replaced the wood around the chimney with a material that would never rot, so they fixed it even better than it was before. It took them a couple of days to do the work. They took care of all the cleanup as well. We've been real happy with them."

"Personable and professional throughout the job until the end with the installation of the chimney cap. We had to call 3 times over 6 weeks to get a return phone call regarding the installation of the prepaid cap. A promised referral gift card also went undelivered after 3 calls. The lack of follow-up and the disinterested response from our sales representative left us disappointed after such a great job. The lack of the timely installation of the chimney cap in the recent torrential rains left us with ongoing messy clean ups inside. It's too bad to do a really good job up front and drop the ball in the end."

"Firstly, it was an absolute pleasure dealing with Barbara.  She promptly responded to our initial inquiry and each time I reached-out to her thereafter.  She was available by phone and text message.  She is a real asset to their company.
I described the problem to Robert when he arrived to evaluate the roof a few days later.  Barbara then provided a verbal estimate for the repairs.  I agreed to the price thinking we were agreeing that RMR would repair the leak in the roof.
On the day of repairs, I was unable to supervise when the two workers arrived.  This resulted in the workers replacing shingles for a section of roof that did not require replacing.  More importantly, the neglected the area I identified as needing repairs.  After informing Barbara the roof still leaked and showed no improvement, Robert dispatched roofers again to replace shingles and lay I&W in the area suspected to be problem.  While the amount of water entering the house was reduced, the roof continued to leak.  Robert himself arrived for the third attempt to supervise and work on the roof himself.  In this case, he spent considerable time extending the I&W protection underneath a small overhang.  Unfortunately, even after this third attempt the roof still leaked, though again considerbly less than when we originally contacted RMR.  Efforts to have RMR return yet another time to patch an additional area resulted in RMR wanting additional funds.
My overall experience with RMR was very good.  Barbara was very responsive to my calls and texts and Robert made two good-faith attempts to repair the roof.  I feel, however, that our agreement was to repair the roof, while they claimed it was to repair the area in question.  As a result, I regret not getting anything in writing.  Also, it's unfortunate that my experience with RMR was to tackle a very pernicious leak (a subsequent roofer has been unable to fix it as well), which partially soured the experience.
In conclusion, I would enthusiastically recommend RMR to others, but advise they request a written contract detailing the work to be done (I'm sure this mistake is made by many a new homeowner).

"

2 workers showed up , started to demolish, were not very careful where all the bricks and old insulation fell.

the worker, were very personable, nice, but slobs. The chimney was rebuild and I assume was done right,

it took two days. The clean up wasn't so good, I offered the use

of our leaf blower to get rid of the old insulation which was spread on the roof, I finally told them to go because

the mess they created was damaging some of the ground cover and planting.

Nice guys, but clean up is not high on the list.  I had to hire some one to clean the roof and also clean out the gutters

there was 2 inches of sand in the gutter. They also would honor the Coupon I had from Angie's list booklet,

reason: there was more work than they thought.( I have to believe them I don't know.)

The chimney looks good

, but this company should invest in some tarps, which makes to clean up easier.
