"I’m very pleased with my experience! The package unit I had needed replacement and what I had in mind was to move the new unit to a different location which I guessed would be more complicated. With my other quotes I had the sense they weren’t happy about taking that on but these folks basically said yeah, it will be, but this will be a challenge to look forward to. I like that. Beyond that the project was done on time and this new system is great! I’ll be looking forward to having them maintain this system over the years. "

"Did not acquire the automobile so the services were not needed. However, the company was very responsive with a comprehensive bid and an appropriate followup. I would give them the opportunity to bid again should the need arise again in future."

"We use to have All Seasons Heating and Air and then Hiller bought them out. They do heating and air, plumbing, and electrical, you name it. We have a club where they come ever 6 months and check everything out for us and they don't charge. They didn't give us the product, they just do the service. I look at the toilet they put in and I'm not real thrilled with the floor around it. We always use them. We've used that same company for 17 years. They were taken over by someone else, but it's still a lot of the same people."

"I had steel front entry door that faced the morning sunlight.  As a result of this, along with paint color, the door (and sidelights) absorbed a lot of heat and underwent a lot of expansion and contraction.  This expansion eventually led to the sidelight trim to bust causing a drafty entryway and moisture intrusion. Also, probably as a result of the house settling after construction, both the entry door and and storm door were not square and didn't shut and latch properly. I went to the showroom and informed Mr. Pittner of my problems and he suggested the type of door I should get installed which I agreed to.  Mr. Pittner called before coming out to perform the removal and installation and they arrived on time.  They made two trips out to the house, the first to install entry door then later to install the storm door after I painted the entry door (I wanted to save a little bit so I did the paint myself)  They performed the work quickly and quietly (as quiet as you can for a construction job!) and were even open to any questions I asked during the process.  They were thorough in their clean up as well.  I am very happy with the installation and am no longer embarrassed by my front door.  I would definitely recommend this Pittner Services and if I ever have a similar job (windows, doors, etc.) they will be the first I would call. <br /> My only "complaint" would be the timing of installation.  I got the initial quote towards the end of May, installation of the entry door occurred in mid July, and completion of the project with the storm door in  mid September. When we were determining a day to come out I was put on the schedule as ASAP, meaning that the installation shouldn't take long and they would fit me in between bigger jobs.   I can't really complain much because I wasn't in a hurry to get the job completed and if I wanted it done sooner I would have requested a firm date, so some of the "blame" could have been put on me.  Weather also played a role, we ended up having a wet June so that pushed a number of jobs back.  Another reason I can't complain much is they when they did come out in July, it was after a nice cold front pushed through which knocked the temps down near 80 degrees, so I saved in not having to run the AC while they had the front entry way wide open during installation.  Finally, when they made the second trip out to install the storm door they took a look at and repaired a closing and latching problem I was having with my back patio door (installed by a Lowes installer a couple years earlier, had simliar thermal expansion and moisture problem) at no extra cost!  I wish I had Pittner for that job.   I can look at time issue in a positive light however, if it took this long to come out to complete the job due to other projects going on, then there are other people that see that they perform quality work. <br />"

"removed old wall papers and repaired walls.  On outside replace all damaged siding, painted siding garage walls ceiling and concrete floor, front porch, including concrete, pressure washed metal roof, painted ceiling and floor of 800 sq ft deck, and out building.  I found them very professional. Their repair guy was very good.  They cleaned up their mess when they were finished..... I would hire them again and recommend them to my friends."

"<p>I actually used this company in 2014 when it was House Doctors.  My experience with them as House Doctors was okay.  The owner was punctual and a worker came out to do the repairs but what I expected to be a few hours turned into an all day.  Some of the original work was repairing a piece of my floor which meant sawing up a piece of the floor board, cutting a new piece to size, and nailing it back down and the worker was wearing slouchy, baggy shorts and flip flops.  I felt they were a little pricy but I also realized I was calling a handyman and paying more for convenience than anything.  </p> <p>In 2015 I called the name on my House Doctors receipt and found out the company had changed it's name.  I called them to come out and quote installing some crown molding in the living room, attaching some fixtures in the bathroom, and installing new lights and a mirror.  The owner again was very punctual but spend quite a bit of time explaining to me why he had cut ties with the House Doctors franchise.  He also disagreed with me on how I wanted the crown molding and seemed to charge way to much for simple installations in the bathroom. In the end, we didn't use It's Done as there quote was the highest and probably won't use them in the future.  They are punctual but that is pretty much where the positive ends.  They seem overpriced for the services they are providing and will only do it the way they want to and not really listen to what your asking for.  </p> <br />"

"Responsiveness was extraordinary! I called on Wednesday, the next  morning Billy came by to give me an estimate. I liked him immediately and told him to go ahead with the job. Expecting a bit of a wait in this busy spring season, I was stunned when Billy said he could do the work that very same day! (I was lucky that it was a rainy day, and he was not able to do his scheduled exterior paint jobs.) And, sure enough, the job was begun & completed the very next day after my initial phone call. Amazing! Billy's paint job was beautiful.....he & his two workers applied two coats of paint, and the result was a seamless wall of color with no brush strokes or imperfections visible. The edging of the dark paint against my off-white trim & ceiling was perfectly precise. Just a beautiful edge! They promptly restored the room's furniture & paintings to their original positions, and left no trace of their recent activity. Also, and very importantly, Billy can be counted on to be honest & upfront about any problems. One of his crew members.....who are great people that Billy has known for years.....dropped a paint roller onto our carpet. Billy told us about this & offered compensation. But their clean-up had been so prompt & thorough that we could see no stain. Billy even dropped by the next morning to make sure the carpet still looked fine. A great company to deal with.....and one that I have already scheduled to do more work for us. I could not be more pleased. <br />"

FAQs for thermostat installation and replacement projects in New Hope, AL

Smart thermostats may be worth it for many homeowners. They come with various features, including voice control and smartphone apps. Vacation mode can help lower energy usage when you’re out of town for an extended period. Alert warnings let you know about major spikes or drops in temperature. Smartphone apps can track energy usage, and smart thermostats can learn your routine over time to adjust your temperature and reduce wasted energy consumption automatically.

You typically do not need more than one smart thermostat. While it’s common to see multiple mechanical thermostats throughout a large home, multiple smart thermostats may try to override each other. This can lead to problems with the HVAC system. Ensure the unit you buy has the option for dual- or multi-zoned systems to avoid compatibility issues.

Installing a programmable or smart thermostat may save you $180 per year in utility costs. A big part of this comes from a smart thermostat’s ability to learn and adapt to your regular routines. With smartphone apps or web-based interfaces, you also have the option to control your thermostat when you’re not home.
