"They replaced my windows in a timely manner. At first I was pleased with the appearance and quality of the windows from the inside, but I did not inspect the outside up close as the windows were all on the second floor. Two months later, in June, when I went to put up my awnings I discovered that the mounting brackets for the awnings had been removed and apparently discarded. As a result, three of my awnings can no longer be used. At that time I also noticed there was a sizeable gap, about three quarters of an inch, between some of the window frames and the house siding. <br /> Subsequently, I returned their written survey indicating my dissatisfaction and requesting that their representative contact me. I never heard from them again. I waited until October 5th and then telephoned their sales rep, Mat Taylor and explained the problem. He said someone would be in touch with me. That was three weeks ago and I still have not heard from anyone. For over two thousand dollars per window, I had expected better service than this. <br />"

"Daniel replaced a dozen wood casement windows for us with new vinyl clad ones. The windows he replaced were 20 year old ones from when the home addition was constructed. The other windows in the house were replaced about 15 years ago and Daniel was able to almost exactly match those. He provided the best price and his team was quick and efficient. They did a great job and the new windows are perfect."

"Beautifully done. This job required complete reno of 1972 bathroom down to the studs. New ceiling, walls, and flooring, fanlight with duct work to roof, sealing existing leaks on roof, upgrading electrical, replacing and repositioning plumbing as needed, installing tub/shower, vanity and top, medicine cabinet, lights, door, trim, and all hardware. Dave replaced the existing window with a larger one, and new trim inside and out. And he did this all himself. I can't say enough good things. I think his pricing is fair, his quotes and his work are meticulous. He's also such a nice guy to work with and talk to. He worked on consecutive days, and cleaned up afterwards."

"We recently had our siding done by Gunner Roofing and can’t say enough good things. We had our consultation with Andrew and he was honest, not pushy, and even enthusiastic about the project. He was patient and answered multiple rounds of questions to make us feel as comfortable and secure as possible. When we decided to give the siding project to them, they worked with us step by step. We received line item details, mock ups, and were even able to get their own personal/professional input on decisions. Andrew and Joe Massari went over the project with us multiple times to make sure we were comfortable. They stayed professional, reliable, and communicative during the whole process. Our Project Manager, Conor, kept open lines of communication and was honest about timelines, materials, etc.; nothing during this project was a surprise. Gabriel and his crew did absolutely amazing work, they were meticulous, precise, and clean. The whole team really took an out of box idea and delivered on it at 100%. I’m truly so lucky to have found this group and have already spoken to them about future projects. Scope of work: full Hardie siding (Hardie Panel vertical siding), window install, gutter replacement, front door install. Team: Andrew Prchal (Ops Mgr.), Joe Massari, Conor (Project Manager), Gabriel & crew."

"From first contact, until the final walk-through, Wes, Aimee and their team were the best. <br /> Estimates were accurate, communication was excellent, and attention to detail was consistent from start to finish. <br /> Every effort was made to make the process as painless as possible for us, and the jobsite was cleaned up every night. Our project took several months and these standards were maintained the entire time. <br /> The final result is absolutely beautiful - better than I dreamed of. <br /> AW Carpentry will be coming back to side our house later this year. <br /> Highly recommended. <br />"

"Met with DH Radomski, he was very knowledgeable and friendly. He knows a lot about windows and what options are available and he talked through what we should select and what would work out in our room. I felt very confident at this stage. I see his sign all over West Hartford so that was reassuring as well. <br /> One of the drivers for finally replacing our inefficient windows was all the wood rot around the windows. The holes from the rot were bad enough last winter that we had to plastic our windows and the draft caused the plastic to balloon inward it was that bad. <br /> The actual day of installation arrived and Mr Radomski himself was not on site. He didn't give an indication that he was going to outsource the job but two guys in a beat up old van turned up to do the work. They didn't have the Radomski shirt or signage on their truck. <br /> When I inspected the work when I got home I found that they had reinstalled all the rotten wood. The holes that were the impetus for performing the work were still there. There were four places around our brand new windows where I could push my finger into the wood rot and it would sink in past my first knuckle. <br /> I texted Radomski a couple times, when I sent him photos he called me back and arranged to have the wood fixed. The same guys who did the initial work came back and replaced the rotten wood that was visible on the outside. It is done now  and we have finished painting it ( I hadn't realized that the raw wood would be left exposed ) and it has turned out ok in the end, but not a pleasant experience"

FAQs for new windows service projects in New London, CT

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
