"We hired Barrier Construction to take care of some stucco issues and repair some structural damage on our house. They were great to work with. They were able to deal with both the structural issues AND the stucco issues, while all other companies we spoke to only dealt with one or the other (meaning we would have to hire and coordinate multiple contractors) and they did a great job. They even noticed and corrected some cosmetic issues (for al fee) that another company had created when working on the house. (They were a mild annoyance whenever we looked at the house but would have been a big lift for us to fix ourselves, and we appreciated their proactive approach when we felt the other company had been fairly neglectful and inattentive to detail in their work). While other general contractors we’ve worked with have been difficult to get ahold of or generally haven’t felt very ‘present’, Barrier was easy to communicate with, they kept us updated, were very responsive, and answered all of our questions. "Justin was awesome and we would highly recommend him to anyone! He was very thorough with the inspection and took the time to answer all of our questions. He gave us great details, as far as critical items and simple repairs, with everything he found. He also had great advice for simple maintenance of other items in and around the home. Justin is also a contractor, which is great, because that gives him the knowledge to not just know what to look for, but how to take care of it the correct way. He can also be hired after inspection to do certain repair/install work for you. Don't waste time researching other inspectors and price shopping. Amazing and better than expected! Dealing with contractors is not always an enjoyable experience and we are happy to report that Minnesota Construction and Property Management was a treat to work with.

During the initial consultation, Trevor listened to our request to improve our outdoor living space and offered design solutions the other companies hadn't at a price that was more reasonable. It almost seemed too good to be true.

We were tentatively scheduled to begin work on the deck towards the end of May. Thanks to a mild winter and Trevor's excellent time management, they began working on our project at the end of March and finished within a week (and that includes the snow delay and a weekend off)! 

We have the nicest deck in the neighborhood. The crew is polite, hard-working, and detail-oriented. They have pride in their carpentry skills and we are the beneficiaries of their amazing work.

"SMS Construction hauled away my old crappy deck and and replaced it with a brand new cedar deck. This was a full service job done to perfection by SMS.  The materials arrived right on time, as did the dumpster to remove the remains of the old deck.  The crew worked very efficiently and did not leave a mess. Some rotten sheathing was discovered under the old ledger board and Scott sent me pictures from his phone which I immediately reviewed and authorized some additional work.  Additional cost for that was minimal and fair.  Final product is very good looking and I can tell that no corners were cut. Over-all a very good value and a carefree experience.
