"Sam called immediately and AJ was here earlier than the scheduled time. They replaced a fuse for the air handler and solved a two year mystery of why the AC wasnâ t working. They also charged and cleaned two condensers right before the summer heat set in. Will be calling them for our other central hvac system very soon!"

"Decided to give MSD a call as I had another company over the house today to fix my AC and they were not able to repair it as they needed to order parts. Mehmet answered the phone and couldn't have been more professional/helpful. He spent 10 or so mins on the phone with me trying to understand the problem and give me advice. He unfortunately couldn't send some one out as he was super jammed with the current heat wave. I will not hesitate to call Mehmet again as he is a true professional and very knowledgeable."

"We were in the process of selling my parent's home and needed to convert the existing oil heat to natural gas which included removing the underground oil tank. I found Dawson through Angie's List and Dave was the most responsive contractor I contacted (called 5 local contractors). Dave quickly scheduled the inspection and provided an estimate the same day. He was on par with one other contractor. We went with Dave due to his straightforwardness and especially because he was an all-in-one contractor as opposed to the other four which I had to find a separate contractor to remove the oil tank (which made no sense). The conversion went smooth, our oil tank was removed and thank goodness for no leaks so no remediation needed, but with that said, our city hall and buyer's were a tad difficult to deal with. As such, we needed to ask Dave and Wanda for additional assistance and paperwork and they worked diligently to make sure we met our closing date (they were even working while away on vacation answering my text messages and emails), essentially ensuring we were ultimately satisfied. With the stressors that come with selling a house, Dave and Wanda didn't add to the stress and in fact did as much as they could to lessen ours. We can't thank them enough and if we ever need any services they offer, they'll be the first we reach out to!"

"I was in desperate need of an AC unit repair and Kyle came to the rescue. Iâ  ve owned my home since 2019 and have been looking for and honest and reliable AC technician. Iâ  ve used a couple of other technicians but Kyle will be my go to moving forward. He kept me informed of everything he was doing and educated me on how my unit should be running. He even gave me info for what filters I should be purchasing to help my unit run efficiently. He gave me several options with regards to repairs and I went with the higher priced option because it was so reasonable and I didnâ  t want to cut corners. I will be scheduling my routine maintenance with him for the summer and winter. Iâ  m so happy I finally found an AC technician I can rely on. I highly recommend him."

"When your request a service, it important to ask if there is anything else I should know. My dryer wasn't getting hot so I thought I would just need my vent cleaned. Well, come to find out when the vent was clean and after the guy was packing up, he stated that "oh, we do provide a dryer cleaning and we have those packages he also stated "If your dryer doesn't get hot, you ming need a full cleaning of the dryer, where we take it apart" I would have requested that full service, if I would have known about that service. I'm not scheduling another appointment when the guy was already here and could have done everything to get my dryer working.... My suggestion is to ask all the questions possible to make sure you know your options for service. P.S. My dryer still isn't getting hot."

FAQs for central a/c service or repair projects in Newark, NJ

A condenser fan motor is a crucial part of your air conditioner that prevents the compressor from overheating. It pulls heat from your AC unit to cool the refrigerant moving through the condenser coils. This allows your system to blow cool air and keeps everything running smoothly.

The most common causes of AC fan motor failure include loss of lubricant in the system due to overheating and a rusted or leaking run capacitor. Poor lubrication can also cause failure in the belt drive, which may impact the AC fan motor. Weather and electrical components can also affect your AC. For example, a storm could send water into your motor windings and damage the internal components.

Air conditioner fan motors last about 12 years on average, though they can last longer if maintained well. This includes keeping them clean and cooled as needed with annual air conditioner checkups. Routine maintenance is essential to catch AC fan issues early. An HVAC inspection can cost between $70 and $500, while AC cleaning services may range from $100 to $400.

A broken AC fan motor may need replacement because this part usually can’t be repaired. Several things indicate it’s time to replace your AC fan motor, including buzzing noises, a constantly running fan, unusually high energy bills, or an aging system. If you notice these signs, call an HVAC pro for help before the faulty motor starts to strain other parts of the AC system.

There are clear warning signs of a bad AC fan motor, including unusual interruptions in the fan operation. The motor might be malfunctioning if you hear weird noises like grinding or rattling or if the fan continues to spin when the unit is off. These indicators compromise your AC’s cooling performance and increase your energy costs. Addressing these issues immediately by contacting a trusted HVAC professional prevents further damage and safeguards your HVAC's efficiency.

Replacing your AC fan motor takes a professional one to four hours. The technician will start by assessing your system and safely removing the damaged motor. If a new part needs to be ordered, it might take a few days. Once the part is available, your pro will install it properly and make sure your system is running smoothly.
