"During a flooring project we discovered that a slow exterior leak probably dating from the construction of our house 20 years ago had rotted out a small patch of sub flooring and some exterior OSB sheathing.  We asked Thorobilt to work with us to repair the exterior damage and took care of the interior portion ourselves.   We did not know the extent of the damage ahead of time because it was under the siding, so it was difficult for a contractor to bid the project.  Steve gave us a ballpark estimate of the expected cost but proposed to charge based on time and materials.  This is scary as a homeowner because it feels a little like writing the contractor a blank check, but it was fair in this situation and Steve did a fine job of explaining how he guessed the project would run.  The overall repair involved pulling siding off the house and chimney, replacing some rotted framing and OSB in both the chimney and house, finding and fixing leaks, and re-installing and partially replacing the siding.  Joe and Kelvin did most of the work.  They worked efficiently and were happy to show us what they were doing every step of the way.  And, they even lent us some tools to help with the interior portion of the job (thanks, Joe!).   The overall price came in close to Steve's initial guess, and as far as we can tell without the help of a good rain storm to test for leaks the job was done thoroughly and well. <br />"
