"Smalltown Property Revivial is a highly professional small handyman business that can handle most of your general repairs and rebuilds for your home. They rebuilt a beautiful second story wooden deck at my historic residence and it is very solid and looks wonderful. I included a couple of pictures although we are still needing a base rail which will be installed soon. Other projects included installing a window ac unit, checking and replacing smoke alarms, moving and removing heavy pieces of furniture and other items. I never had to worry that something was not being done correctly and they are responsive to any changes or additions you have. We are waiting on a set of French doors to be delivered, then they will install those. I highly recommend Smalltown Property Revival for your home handyman needs. Am updating as the French doors came in and were installed so well. They look amazing. Eric and Smalltown also added lattice to the deck railing that gives an elegant touch as well as enhanced privacy. I may need to re-submit my pictures and will gladly attach several so others can appreciate Smalltown attention to detail."

"The installer was friendly, professional, and took care not to damage the cabinets or stovetop. He was knowledgeable and asked if we had any questions. He was on time and called before he came to be sure we were ready for him. We would hire them again!"

"After recent hail events in OKC, I needed to find a place to perform hail repair on my newly purchased truck. USAA sent me to a place where they wanted to take off the roof of my truck and put it back on--all reviews I have heard about this was negative. I decided to check Angie's List for any company that performed hail repairs and came across Skyline and their great deal of $38 = $500 towards your deductible. Knowing that it would take at least two weeks to complete the hail damage, I was not expecting my vehicle back soon.
At Turn-In
1. They explained to me that removing the roof is not a good option and they would not do that = A
2. They stated that they could talk to my insurance company and try to get a spray-in bedliner installed at no charge = A
At Delivery
1. The truck was delivered to me with the paint on the roof visibily showing lines of where they forgot to paint or where the paint ended = D
2. The new hood that was installed had white scuffs on the front and needed to be buffed out = D
At Delivery Part 2
1. The paint and hood were fixed = A
2. The section between the hood and windshield, where the wipers are, was scuffed on one side and broken on the other = F
    - This wasn't a little break, this was a break that was so noticable that it shouldn't have even left the parts section for delivery
At Deliver Part 3
1. All parts, paint, and whatever else was fixed to perfection = A
2. What was clearly a 1 day job took 3 full days and ME having to call them to see if it was ready = D
Overall, I'm not really sure about this experience. Although there were courteous throughout the process and went beyond what I expected in getting me a spray-in bedliner...the multiple times I was given delivery on the vehicle w/ it having things done incorrectly or broken and the fact I had to call each time to find out my vehicle had been ready for delivery well before my call--I cannot recommend this company."

"After I approved the drapes, I was sent an invoice for $700. I paid the invoice. It's been over a year and despite numerous emails (over a dozen) with Amanda Zettel of Homemade Design, I still have not received the drapes or a refund. I was very satisfied with all of Homemade Design's work up until this experience."

"We had a part of our roof which had rotted away. I called them up around March 15th 2012, and since it was a small job they were going to squeeze us in when they had a half day open. Eventually August was when it was repaired. This is ok because other than severly heavy rain, the roof didn't leak. Also our area was hit recently by bad flooding so I know they were busy. But they came out and got the roof replaced in that half day and it looks great!

"First, they got more people to buy the deal than expected so there was a delay in getting them out. But I then had to reschedule once, and they worked with me. They put down the wrong date, but when I called, they sent someone right away. The work was done well and professionally (small repairs, plus shortening blinds). I would use them again for handyman or other small construction projects.

FAQs for blinds or shades repair projects in Norman, OK

If you're wondering whether repairing your blinds is worth it, consider the quality and age of your blinds. For high-end or custom blinds, repairing them can preserve their quality, functionality, and design, making repair a smart choice. Immediate repairs maintain the original look and performance. However, if your blinds are over six years old, extensively damaged, or of lower quality, replacing them might be more cost-effective, as new blinds offer better efficiency and modern technology. Weigh the repair costs against the benefits of replacement to make the best decision for your situation.

When damage undermines the integrity and appearance of your blinds, replacement becomes the clear option. You should replace your blinds when damage to slats or fabric prevents you from obtaining an exact match, thereby compromising appearance and function. Severe damage increases repair complexity and expense. Replacing blinds not only restores superior performance but also creates an opportunity for aesthetic upgrades and lasting benefits.

You should plan to replace your blinds at least every 10 years, with clear signs of wear, such as discoloration, deterioration, or functional issues, emerging by five years. Regular evaluation of style, quality, and performance supports an informed decision. While minor repairs may temporarily extend usability, a complete replacement secures optimal operation and updated design.

Establish a regular maintenance routine to keep your blinds looking and functioning their best. Clean them regularly with mild, specialized products and follow the manufacturer's recommended usage guidelines. UV-blocking window film can protect against fading and warping from sun exposure. Regular inspections and proactive maintenance will preserve their appearance and performance, extending their overall lifespan.

If you pull the blind string and it does not move, it indicates a malfunction in the mechanism, such as a broken cord, a jammed cord lock, or a stuck component. Inspect the string for breaks and examine the headrail for any obstructions. Replace the defective cord or cord lock as necessary to restore proper operation and maintain functionality.

Yes, you can replace your blind string yourself by using a replacement kit available at home improvement stores. Accurate measurement of the string diameter is essential for a perfect fit. Gather the necessary tools and follow the manufacturer’s instructions rigorously to secure a safe, lasting fix. If the task demands more time than anticipated, hiring a professional is advisable to avoid further damage.
