"Foreman Tim and crew members Dan and Ty did an excellent job installing a complex series of supports for our basement walls. While they worked hard each day, they were still most accommodating of our needs as homeowners. They moved their equipment several times so that we could be on time for personal commitments, they worked quietly and efficiently (except for the sounds of their equipment, we would hardly have known they were here), and when they were finished, they carefully cleaned our basement before their departure. We enjoyed our experience with Tim, Dan, and Ty, and we’re well pleased with the work they did. "

"I would recommend this place to everyone. Fast, efficient and very honest. I was looking for gutters and gutter guards. Chuck came out and checked out my property and said he wouldnt recommend the guards based on the type and number of trees I had on the property and said it wouldnt be the best way to spend my money. He gave me a great price on the gutters. They installed them quickly and they look awesome. I paid Chuck and the next night he called me to say he recounted the cash and that I had over paid. Top notch guys. Dont go any wheres else."

"Quality work. Competitively priced. We needed an architect for a basement project and after getting a few quotes from other companies, we chose Max Parangi Architects - best in care and price. They delivered the plans promptly, had a good understanding of the building inspection process and even recommended local contractors. If you are looking for an architect firm for your home improvement project (big or small), you definitely want to call Max Parangi Architects."

"Provider took notes for estimates. <br /> Provider sent an employee to repair the siding about 3 days later. The employee did an excellent job of repairing the vinyl siding. Received the estimate on June 15. The estimate was exactly what I had asked for.....had 4 options broken done by work to be performed and price. I expect to use Heffron's for the foundation drainage repair based upon the quality of work on the siding repair and customer service provided by Tammy. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"My home has a 100+ year old slate roof in disrepair and several generations of cheap fixes. I contacted Leeland's for an opinion on repairs. The inspector was extremely thorough, provided pictures, and gave me his candid opinion on the remaining life of my roof based on the condition of my slates and flashings. He ultimately wrote up an estimate to paint the rusted metal valleys, replace several dozen broken slates, repair rotted wood, and install new copper chimney flashing and a cricket. It was a difficult decision to repair vs replace the roof, but I never felt any pressure from them one way or another. I agreed to the repairs originally, but ultimately changed my mind and just decided to replace the roof. I'm sure this was a hassle to go back and forth with me, but they were very patient, and ultimately returned my deposit. I really appreciate their honesty and customer service, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for maintenance on their slate roof. <br />"

"Overall Charlie and his folks did a great job which we were very happy with. The painters were super fast and very very professional, clean and helpful. Actually all of the people Charlie used were extremely polite, clean and professional. I still use the plumber he used for the new bathroom. My only minor dissatisfaction was with the electrician. I had to replace one of the outlets he installed in the basement and I think he could have given me more advice with placement of lights, outlets and flood light. However to be fair the electrician did the work they were asked to do and most of it was satisfactory. There were some delays in finishing the basement but that is to be expected and I was always kept informed and they worked very accommodatingly around my convenience. Charlie was always available for questions and very flexible and understanding with changes and additions. Also I found Charlie to be very reasonable in terms of cost. He was also exceedingly helpful during the planning phase, giving advice that I felt to be in my best interest even when it meant less work for him."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in North-granville, NY

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
