"Tim is friendly and timely.  He talked us through the entire stump grinding process and answered any questions we had.  He arrived on time and had the stumps ground up in no time.  I needed the wood from the stumps cut up a bit more, and he kindly offered to use his chainsaw to make the pieces smaller for transport--and he didn't charge me extra for the service.  We will continue to use Stiles Stump Removal for any needs in the future and will recommend him to everyone we know. <br />"

"Everstone's direct, professional, and customer centric approach was a breathe of fresh air vs. competitors' sales focused model. There was great communication, both in proposal and installation phases. The focus on customer satisfaction was evidenced by the attention to detail and quality. Not to mention that the stone flooring should mitigate any future damage from water infiltration."

"Russ Austin took us through the process from start to finish, even though we had purchased several years ago from another supplier. They treat you as if you were their one and only customer. <br />The installers were very nice and professional. The install is beautiful and is actually a work of art with a near seamless look. <br /> <br />We are currently working with them on a smaller project, but are receiving the top notch service. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Trace has a crew of professionals with professional equipment and skills. You do get what you pay for with these guys. The cost is outlined upfront and all unavoidable adjustments are addressed with the customer as they occur. Our project ran into all kinds of weather delays, yet Trace managed it to the best of his availability. The outcome was at least as expected and promised."

"Hard work, punctuality, creativity and commitment to a job well done were once again on display by Geoff, Jen and 3 members of their staff (Kean, Nick & Dan) when they worked on phase 2 of our landscaping, hardscaping project. Phase 1 involved removing ground cover (myrtle), bushes, tree trimming, cleaning up flower beds, fixing patio stones & stonewall and power washing sandstone steps. Phase 2 involves designing a new landscape, adding more than 160 new plants, creating a "rockery", mulching and finally re-seeding sections of our lawn. We gave them "carte blanche" as far as what plants to select and where to install them. They showed up with a wide variety of perennials, ferns, succulents and even a weeping pine, a Japanese maple and a small decorative hydrangea "tree". They paid attention to select as much as possible "deer resistant" and/or "deer deterrent" plants (we had mentioned to them that we had quite a few deers visiting us on a regular basis due to the apple tree we have in the front yard). They also made sure that we would have flowers throughout the entire growing season from early bloomer to fall foliage. They even worked to improve/soften the look of some of our existing hardscape elements we couldn't part with. Throughout the years we have worked with quite a few landscaping companies but none of them measures up to the quality of service we received from Ivy League. They have earned and deserved their name. We hired them because of the numerous "Super Service Awards" they had received and they lived up to their reputation and exceeded our expectations. This is why I highly recommend them and would like to nominate them for another Super Service Award."

"Stopped in their store on a whim to look at purchasing mulch in bulk.  Store clerks were awesome and walked us "first timers" through the process.  Dropped off 6 cubic yards of much the next day, exactly where we asked them to drop it.  Product was great, high quality!  Have been getting many compliments.  Our neighbors also bought from them after our recommendation.   <br />"

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in North Ridgeville, OH

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
