"I first met Rich when my furnace was not working properly.The service company I was using told me they could not fix it, and that I needed a new furnace. Rich was suggested as an outside consultant, and soon had the furnace working smoothly. <br /> I hired Rich again later as a Chimney Sweep. Another Chimney Sweep firm had told me I needed to have my furnace chimney re-lined. Rich told me that was not true, and simply cleaned my two chimneys for a very reasonable fee. <br /> He is very competent, honest, and an all round nice guy. "We were hesitant to go with Chimney Savers mainly because of the price - it was thousands more than the nearest competitive bid.  However, in retrospect, we made the right call. <br /> We have a chimney with two fireplaces, one on each floor. The flues were in bad shape when we moved in, which we knew from the home inspection, but we didn't know how bad. 2 of the contractors that we had come in admitted that they couldn't even do the job.  Another could do it, but it would involve removing large sections of the existing chimney, indoors, and replacing with new bricks - we didn't feel like we wanted to go that route. <br /> Mark came in and explained how he would get the job done without destroying existing bricks. It was obvious from the start that he knew what he was doing, and the only hang-up I had was the price. When I finally decided to go with Chimney Savers, it was after saving the money for months to be able to pay him. <br /> It was the right decision. "If you don't want to read the whole review (it's on the long side), here's the summary: Pete’s Chimney and More is a business that will exceed all of your expectations with work that is first rate and an owner who goes out of his way to make the experience so user friendly that for once you won’t dread the process of needing to have work done on your house. And now for the details… We needed to have the chimney on our house repaired. I called Pete’s Chimney, as I had water leaking into the attic from a crumbling chimney. Even though the answering machine said that they were on vacation, within minutes I received a return call from Pete and had set up an appointment for the day after New Years. When I picked up my mail on 12/31, however, the estimate was already in my mailbox with a clear itemization of the work that needed to be done. The estimate was more than fair, and given his willingness to come out on a holiday, I knew immediately we were moving ahead. Pete runs his business as if he is taking care of his family, as you feel as if your problem is his problem. He was able to make an appointment for the end of the week, keeping in touch with me to let me know when he was coming, what to expect, etc. The work is actually for my mother’s house, and as she is elderly and disabled, he went out of his way to make sure she would be comfortable with all of the plans. Ultimately, he was able to move the work up a day taking advantage of the nice weather, calling me to make sure that this would work for my mother. When his team arrived, they immediately got down to work not even stopping to come inside to warm up, and it was a very brisk day! (They even passed on pizza in order to keep working!) The work done was top-rate, with the chimney angles crisp and clean. The work area was tidy the entire time and was left immaculate looking better than when they had started. (I’m not making this up; they had a leaf blower to make sure nothing was left amiss!) When the team left, I had a question for Pete and within minutes of texting him, he replied. I called him, and he went through his answer in detail explaining how the chimney had been reconstructed. While his answer far exceeded my question, I so appreciated his willingness to spend the time making sure I was completely satisfied with all parts of the job. In the end, the job was even more thorough than I had expected, and I now look forward to my new chimney’s long life! So often, and rightfully so, people write reviews when things don’t go well. I’m not sure that we spend as much time writing reviews when things go well. In this case, I could not be happier or more pleased with my interactions from start to finish with Pete’s Chimney and More. Pete’s integrity as a business owner and the expertise of his team stand out making me thrilled to see that he offers many other services that we will be able to use in the future. If you are looking for someone who is honest, thoughtful, and who will work with you to get the job done the right way, you don’t need to look any further than Pete’s Chimney and More."

"Total Chimney installed a new stainless steel cap over my three flue chimney. An initial misunderstanding about price was quickly and fairly resolved with the owner. The three crews which came to my house were all very professional, although the lead tech at the first visit did not measure, so the special order cap did not fit and a second one had to be ordered. During the whole process, my phone calls to the office were quickly returned and communication was excellent. I am very pleased with how everything was handled and recommend Total Chimney."
