"We hired Elite Stone Works (Andre) to redo our backyard. Our project consisted of multiple items - removal of an existing natural stone patio, demolition of an existing firepit and conversion to a water feature, installation of a new paver based patio, a natural gas firepit, an outdoor kitchen, footings for a pergola and a dog relief area because let's be honest, we are not going to let me beautiful new lawn be destroyed by dog urine. To say that we enthusiastically recommend Andre and his company would be a significant understatement. We have undertaken a number of projects at our home including its overall construction, finishing of a basement and a complete remodel of a master bath. Let's be clear, EVERY project has issues. The true measure of a professional is how they address those issues when they occur. Andre is unlike any tradesman with which we have worked. He is incredibly responsive. I generally make it a rule to avoid contact outside of normal business hours unless there is a critical issue that needs to be addressed in order for work to continue. Any time that I contacted Andre, be it during business hours or in the rare case of after hours, he either answered or returned my call in an hour or less. Each interaction, even at times when I was frustrated or concerned, he kept a calm demeanor and worked with me to find a solution. The quality of the workmanship is absolutely excellent. Andre's team (especially Wilbur - seriously, ask for him on your project) are excellent. To say that I am meticulous would be a disservice to Wilbur. I assumed the role of general contractor on this project. I work from home so I would often check in during the day and address small items that were not aligning to my expectations/standards. As I said, I am beyond meticulous so this is not a critique of the work but an acknowledgement of my zeal. Each time Wilbur and Andre happily accommodated my input and made the necessary adjustments. In terms of the project timeline and budget, we were well over our timeline for this project. This was owing to two primary factors. First, the spring was brutally wet. This resulting in not being able to get heavy equipment into our backyard to aid with the excavation tasks for weeks. Second, this project was very complex with multiple sub contractors needing to coordinate. Without a seasoned general contractor, we simply did not coordinate particularly well on some items. This is in no way on Andre. If there is one thing I can share with anyone taking on a project of this scale and scope, it is to find a general contractor. The added expense is well worth the experience they bring to the project. In terms of budget, Andre was exactly on budget. When we added scope, he was fair and open about the additional cost of the addition and then we were allowed to make a decision. There was never a feeling that he underbid the project and then tried to recoup costs through change orders. We acknowledge our additions to the project and as I said, he was extremely fair about them. Overall, we couldn't be happier with the outcome of the project. The area has changed our entire backyard and for that matter our home. We, without any reservation, are thrilled to write this review and strongly recommend Andre and Elite Stone Works for your project. We only wish we could attach more pictures to share the amazing work that Andre and his team completed."

"I can't say enough about Justin and his team. He added on a patio to an existing walkway, installed a firepit, and finished off a retaining wall. Justin is extremely professional, communicated very well throughout the entire project, and his prices are very reasonable. He did an excellent job matching the new paves to the existing pavers, which is not an easy job. "The project required working close to the house with a backhoe which was expertly done.  It also required stone cutting and fitting which was also done with expertise.  The crew was professional and worked with us throughout the project to keep us informed of their progress and making sure that we were pleased with the work.  The finished steps, retaining walls and walkway are beautiful and we've already received compliments from neighbors for the work. <br /> This is the second project that we've hired BestHands to do for us.  Last year, they replaced an old patio with a new, larger one and added a retaining wall along one side.  We wanted a customized, curved shape for the patio that the BestHands crew were able to provide beyond our expectations. <br /> We recommend BestHands to anyone interested in hiring a team of professionals who can exceed expectations for the work they perform. <br />"

"We received an initial quote from Harris & Co. based on a recommendation from a coworker to replace a backyard deck with a stone patio. I received three quotes from various contractors. Harris's quote was the most expensive but I went with Joshua Harris's company anyway for the following reasons: * Joshua had a complete treatment that included landscaping (which ultimately I did not do), pavers, lowering of the ground, demolition, fire pit, and seating wall. * They were responsive, using text and email and replying promptly. * Joshua Harris had a better vision for the project than I did! He envisioned a wall, lighting, making the patio extremely large (due to the limited space in the backyard, he thought that leaving a bit of grass would be pretty pointless). Ultimately, it was the completeness of the vision that drew me to use his service. Since he does landscaping, lighting, and tons of stuff, Joshua will give you a pretty complete treatment. This costs you. I think that you get what you pay for, but it's something to keep in mind. If you have a budget, keep your discipline and see what aspects that you can go without! That all said, we went all out for this project and added a long wall, accent pavers, a large fire pit, and lighting. This was an extremely expensive project for us, but it's been worth it as the end result is rather beautiful and makes the space much more usable. Before, we wouldn't even leave out the back door because the deck was so small and the yard was so dreary, but the large 28' stone patio makes the space inviting and easy to walk across, even when we're not entertaining. As for the work, I was impressed by the amount of communication that was provided. They contacted me almost every day to let me know if they were going to arrive to work and informed me if circumstances (usually rain, sometimes illness) affected the schedule. Joshua was overall very professional. There were occasionally circumstances though that affected what could be done at any point - for example a certain model of lamp I requested wasn't available, so I had to get a different one; in another case one of the bulbs burned out and I had to reach out to get it replaced. The final thing is that Joshua follows through. The mulch for the back was delayed due to an inventory issue and I hadn't heard from him after the work for a number of weeks, but then he called me when the items came back in and scheduled the follow-up. The point is: if you need something from him, don't be afraid to reach out. The work was quite costly but I think that you get what you pay for and when you go with Harris & Co., you get a lot."
