"360 Contracting was awesome! Damion and his team were prompt, polite and did an amazing job at everything they did for us. He helped with plumbing, sheet rock, painting, electrical and many other items helping us get our home ready to sell. He communicated with me with which was so important, called if he was running late, let me know about issues when they came up and talked to us about every aspect of the work. Handyman does not do him justice! He completed everything we asked and more! I would recommend 360 Contracting and already have! Thank you Damion it was a pleasure!"

"Very unprofessional. The painter brought his dog and put it in a crate in the middle of my dining room. Let our dog out with his. Used my washing machine without my permission because his dog peed on his drop cloth. My husband works third shift and goes to bed early at 7:30 pm. They were aware of this. On a few occasions they were at our house until 8:30 pm. Used my microwave at 7 pm to heat up his dinner without my permission and proceeded to eat while my husband needed to go to bed. Several times to fix my storm door appropriately. First put it on backward and I demanded they turn it around. Tons of excuses for everything.Paint splattered on my couch, microwave, trash can, door knobs. The owner was willing to please the customer but the workers were not. Left all their tools and paint cans throughout my house on a daily basis. No complaints about the roofers

This house had asbestos tile to be removed, rotted clapboard to be removed, several framing and insulation repairs, and reproduction moulding created on site and installed.

"It all started with a sagging beam in the dining room of our almost 300 year old house. We knew that it would require special skills  to figure out what the problem(s) were and what would be needed to fix things.
Colonial Restorations was the answer!  I found their ad in Angie's List Boston and North edition and went to their website where we found pictures of old houses, barns and mills all requiring the sort of work we knew we were going to need.
Tom Greene and his son Brad came to look at the project, talked in depth with us about what might be needed, and worked up a plan and estimate for us.  They were very honest and straight forward about the problems facing us and the fact that as they started the job they might find more problems than we were expecting. (They were right!)
My husband, a mechanical engineer , had done a lot of restoration work on other parts of the house many years ago and was impressed with the knowledge and understanding that Tom and Brad about handling this particular job.  They communicated well with us and answered many questions (from me) about what was being done.  The work progressed, between rainstorms in June and July, and when the job was finished,  the north side of our 18th century house was proudly sporting new sills, posts, plates, floor joists and a roof  extension.
We are preparing to hire them back again for another project on the front of our house.  We wouldn't have anyone else do this work.  Tom and Brad really know what they are doing!"

"Karol was excellent in every aspect of the job. Karol was wonderful to work with! Honest, timely and excellent outcomes. Price was reasonable and fair, workers were very pleasant, always punctual, clean-up after each days work was exceptional and completed projects were exactly as I wanted and accommodated last minute change requests. He was responsive and took care of all of the permits and dealt with the building department in my town to assure the basement is up to code. Karol is excellent - the sort of professional that you want to call time and again. I will call him for any future work and tell all my friends.Thank you!"

FAQs for arbor, pergola or trellis custom build projects in Northford, CT

Pergolas and gazebos are both outdoor structures, but there are differences between the two. A pergola has a slatted roof that allows partial sunlight to filter through, creating a light and airy space. In contrast, a gazebo features a solid roof that provides complete shade. This key difference influences the comfort and visual appeal of your outdoor space.

Prefabricated pergola kits require one to four hours of assembly, while custom pergola designs take an average of eight to 16 hours. Additional groundwork, such as pouring a concrete slab, leveling the site, and removing obstructions, may extend the installation process to several weeks, ensuring a secure and long-lasting build.

A standard pergola kit ships with everything you need—four support posts, rafters, top runners, support beams, and hardware for anchoring the frame to a concrete pad. Many manufacturers also bundle add-ons like retractable canopies, privacy screens, or modular sections that let you tweak the footprint. Because each part is pre-cut and labeled, the kit helps you—or your contractor—assemble a sturdy, attractive structure without extra trips to the hardware store.
