"Will & Ashley arrived early & went right to work very efficiently. Asked questions about our special features or needs. Checked w/us about preferred approaches to tricky (high) windows. Excellent job- worked steadily for all 8 hours."

"Initial information given during the estimation visit was minimal. No literature, demonstrations, and very little "sales pitch". I had many follow-up questions. Answers came somewhat slowly but were eventually given to my satisfaction. The windows arrived when expected and installation began promptly afterward. Many of the new windows turned out to be oversized to the point they had to be pried/forced into place. This caused the trim around the windows inside to spread, leaving wide gaps at the corners. When I pointed this out the installers attempted to reposition the trim, which did help but the fit and appearance of the trim is not as good as it was. A tongue and groove cedar board on one wall was cracked during installation, no repair made to that. The windows themselves look great inside and out. Definitely improved the appearance of my home. They seem to be much warmer (as expected) and are much quieter than the old ones. Needing improvement in my opinion is that the installers could do much to improve cleanup behind themselves. I picked-up large numbers of nails, screws, metal clippings, insulation scraps, etc from my yard after they left. Three weeks later I am still finding a few, which is a real concern for my lawn tractor tires and the feet of my grandchildren. Overall I am glad to have done the project, just wish there had been better attention to detail."

"Joel and towel did an excellent job! All the work was done efficiently and neatly. They cleaned up after themselves when they were finished. All the work was on the second story and yet there was minimal intrusion at the rest of the house. They even did a little bit of extra work that they found needing to be done on the outside. They said we were up there anyway. I would highly recommend them under any circumstances."

FAQs for new windows service projects in Norway, MI

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
