"I highly recommend this company. I had a new asphalt shingle roof installed as well as new gutters. They were prompt and efficient. The clean up was incredible. When giving the initial estimate, social distancing protocol was recognized. Definitely worth hiring!"

"Wow! Our home was built in 1972 and is a brick rancher. This company did an outstanding job. They replaced what bricks were damaged and redid the wall. They even treated it to a wash that made the bricks match the originals. No one else could have done such an excellent job as the mortar color was one that was discontinued 15 years ago. Eric searched and found someone who had the color and matched our home completely. Jose did the work and was timely, knowledgeable and personable. He arrived on time, worked hard, and cleaned up after himself. I can't say enough good things about this company. I would recommend this company for any stone or brick work that you need done."

"Outstanding experience - Sonny is now my granite guy. The price was the best I could find. He showed me the product in his warehouse and even had the crane pull it out so we could see the full piece and take pictures. He stopped by to take our measurements the next day, and a week later they did the install. Took less than 2 hours to put it all in, plus plumbing. Their plumber is excellent, professional and courteous. The job looks beautiful and I would highly recommend Top Granite."

"The job was completed May 18, 2018. It went perfectly. I will use the words of Warren Buffet to describe the experience: "It is far better to buy a wonderful company at a fair price than a fair company at a wonderful price" Warren Buffet. My experience with Pikesville Remodeling is that I got the services of a wonderful contractor at a fair price. I have done work in my own home and have had contractors do work for me for years. I think that I am finally at the stage of my life that I can recognize quality and character - both of which were obvious in Ariel and his crew. Several outstanding things I found with Pikesville Remodeling. - Outstanding communications. Ariel communicated mostly by text messaging. I knew when he and his people would be arriving, what work they intended to complete during that day, what decisions I needed to make, suggestions for me to consider and next steps. - Excellent workmanship on all levels. The quality of all work performed was exceptional. The workers doing the work were extremely nice. The cleanup they did was beyond anything I had ever experienced from a contractor. - Adding suggestions that made a huge difference. During the job, Ariel suggested (among other things that I implemented) that I have the medicine cabinets inserted into the walls rather than attached to the walls. He also suggested that I not have a soap dish attached to the tiles but rather create an insert into the tiles for soap as well as for shampoo bottles. He showed me pictures of what it would look like. I told him to go ahead with that modification. It really did add to the looks of the project at a minimal cost increase. There is other work I need done in my home. I have already reached out to Pikesville Remodeling to get in their queue (yes, they are backlogged) so that we may begin that work in mid to late summer."

"I informed the company that the driveway had to look exactly the same, per HOA rules. The company stamped the driveway with their logo. I saw the logo a couple hours after they left. I called them and asked them to repair it and they refused. I was also disappointed that the workers shoved all the trash they generated in the trenches they dug next to the driveway and then buried it."

"I have a rental property that needs lawn mowing. Maria is very professional, and gave me a quote and invoice over email. I am able to pay online, which is very convenient for a rental property. Her crew did a great job with the large yard, and comes every two weeks on schedule. She reaches out to tell me if there are any issues that will delay her crew. It’s been far and away my best experience with a lawn maintenance company."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Nottingham, MD

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
