While the other suppliers seemed qualified, H&H's price was about 1/2 to 1/3 the price of the competitors and their lead time (2 weeks vs. 4 - 8 weeks) were also a marked advantage. "This is my second time working with Mike after a previous bathroom/laundry room renovation in our old house. During the pandemic we decided to buy a larger home in Alameda in our desired neighborhood. What we initially thought would be a substantial renovation of a 1915 “fixer upper” home ended up being a complete gut. I interviewed a number of contractors that either refused to bid, gave us disingenuously high bids, or were booked out for the year. I'd kept in touch with Mike and asked if he would bid. Although a complete home renovation is larger than his usual projects of kitchens/bathroom remodels he agreed and I’m so thankful he was willing to take on our project. Prior to the interior renovation starting he was able to provide us with excellent recommendations for foundation and roofing contractors. Once the interior renovation began, he created a detailed schedule for keeping the work on track. He seamlessly scheduled specialized vendors (painting, stucco, heating system, etc) to work in tandem with his team. He spent time getting multiple bids for many aspects of the project to make sure they were within budget. He could have shrugged and said “it costs what is costs” but exercised due diligence to make sure we were getting a good value. Much of the detail work he oversaw and did himself and as others have noted he is onsite every day. He is excellent at troubleshooting and has a great aesthetic sense and an eye for detail. If something didn’t look right or he wasn’t happy with how a vendor had done something, he would redo it himself. Mike stands behind his work and I know I can still reach out to him if something goes wrong or to get his opinion. After living in the house for awhile, it's normal to notice things that can use some tweaking. Mike has come back to make those little adjustments that make a big difference, and is always generous with his time. I cannot recommend him enough and would absolutely hire him again in the future."

"The installation of the windows was great and it went very smoothly for us. It is very nice to have the new windows. They are so much better than the old windows. The crew installing the windows was superior. They were on time, worked diligently and were very professional and polite. They did an excellent job. I highly recommend them, especially with the difficulties involved with Covid. We purchased a sliding door from West Coast windows about 5 years ago and had great service at that time, which is why we choose West Coast Windows again. Everyone from office personnel to installation personnel have been very helpful and positive to work with. I would highly recommend West Coast windows to anyone thinking of replacing their windows."

"We went with Elizabeth Shutters because they are made in the USA and lead time was much less than anyone else. Cost was about in the middle of the others we received quotes on. We were very excited to get our shutters installed. Mike the installer was on time and professional. The issue is the actual quality of the shutters. We only had 5 windows done and every shutter has some type of mark from scratches, chips, gouges and even paint rolling down one. Most of the issues were on the frames but some on the actual shutters. We also were having a shade installed but the bracket was not correct. Things happen and I even understand some issues with product. My complaint is that I reached out to Elizabeth Shutters exactly 1 week ago today. Told them of the quality issues and sent pictures. Also commented that pictures are hard to see everything and I was hopeful someone would come out and look. I also asked when the bracket would be in for the shades. Again 1 week ago and I have heard nothing back. That is not acceptable."
