"Denis Dougherty of Philadelphia Brick & Stone Pointing worked over the weekend to fix the chimney that was causing leaks on rainy days and he fixed some sagging bricks. I was away when he worked on them but everything was fixed when I came back. It's been a few months now and still no leaks even with heavy rain."

"I should preface my review by stating for the record that it is INCREDIBLY hard to find a quality masonry company, and when you do they are booked up so far in advance that you're almost always out of luck. British Masonry are just as busy as all the other companies, so it took a few weeks for their schedule to open up. That being said, once they were able to make it out, they were polite, professional and did superb work.
I designed a new section of brick for the front of my house and David came out to give me an estimate and review my plans. He made meaningful suggestions to the design and then told me what kind of prep work would need to be done to the area. After we prepped the project space, David and Donny came out and in about 2-3 hours had completely finished the job.
They cleaned up after themselves and the brick work is stunning. I highly recommend British Masonry to anyone looking for craftsman-level masonry.

"Great job - Steve came out and quoted when he said he would, the price was fair, and the work was done very quickly, within 2 weeks. His workers were skilled, showed up every day on time, were courteous, and they all did a great job. I would definitely recommend Steve for any remodeling and repair work!"

"My husband and I will be forever grateful to Rick for taking on the project. He is trustworthy and his attention to detail made the difference in the outcome of the room. Rick went above and beyond the typical handyman job. I would recommend him to any of my friends. They would be as pleased with his work as we were.
Thank you for the opportunity to share our experience."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: repair or partially replace projects in Orange Park, FL

Stone veneer isn’t a weekend DIY. Even lightweight faux panels are heavy and must be anchored, flashed, and sealed to keep water out. Missteps can lead to cracked stone, leaks, or injuries. A licensed siding contractor arrives with scaffolding, masonry tools, and the know-how to set each piece safely and neatly, giving you a long-lasting, professional finish.

Stone veneer durability is robust when expert installation and proper maintenance are employed. When installed with precision, regularly cleaned, and sealed as required, stone veneer maintains its integrity for 25 to 75 years. Inadequate installation, however, leads to water intrusion and structural issues that compromise its longevity. Consistent upkeep and adherence to quality installation standards ensure decades of reliable performance.

Covering the entire exterior of a home with stone veneer is feasible but comes with a significant cost increase. Full coverage escalates both material and labor expenses due to the additional square footage required. Many homeowners reduce costs by applying stone veneer selectively—such as around entries, foundations, or architectural accents—while still achieving an upscale appearance and enhancing overall curb appeal.

Installing stone veneer over brick or stucco is entirely possible when the underlying surface is stable and properly prepared. The substrate must be clean, dry, and free of any loose material to support a secure application. Additionally, any areas of flaking stucco or deteriorated mortar must be patched and allowed to cure fully before a professional applies the new veneer, ensuring lasting durability.

Stone veneer siding offers a substantial cost advantage compared to full-thickness natural stone. It costs 25% of the price of natural stone because it is manufactured from concrete and lightweight aggregates. This method delivers the genuine appearance of stone while featuring a thinner profile that simplifies shipping, accelerates installation, and consistently reduces material expenses.

For a 250 square foot exterior area, stone siding installation costs range from $9,800 to $18,000, while installing stone veneer costs between $5,000 and $6,000. This clear cost breakdown demonstrates the significant savings achieved with stone veneer, which uses a lighter construction method that minimizes both material and labor expenses. Homeowners benefit from these lower costs while still attaining the attractive look of natural stone.
