"I can't say enough good things about Carter and Adam from Moir Electric. It all started when a wired-in fire alarm went off for no apparent reason. I thought mice may have chewed on wires in the attic, and I should get an electrician to take a look. Then I made a list of all the electrical issues I have had and thought it would be a good time to get a quote for those repairs as well. Carter from Moir Electric was the first to call with an amount to quote the job(s). He arrived on time, even coming all the way from Ft. Wayne. You couldn't ask for a more personable and knowledgeable guy. We looked at the long list, and I paid for the quote. I accepted his reasonable quote for the work that evening. The next day Adam (also very pleasant and obliging) appeared on time and worked his tail off, non-stop, fixing it all (even distributing mouse repellent pacs I had while we were up there). "I purchased a hot tub from someone over a year ago, but didn't get it set in place or wire until recently. After getting it wired, the tub wouldn't fire up. My dad installed a new motor, but we still couldn't get the jets going. I gave Joe a call on Monday he said he would be out Wednesday or Thursday. I received a call Tuesday morning saying he could come out today. He was very thorough with checking all the components of the tub and explaining evertything as he was doing his thing. Unfortunately my dad crossed the wires and forgot to hook up a few others. About an hour and a half later, I had a fully functioning hot tub. He even took the time to explain to me how to clean and properly care for my spa since it is my first one. I will definitely give Joe a call for any future hot tub needs.

"The quote came from Nick and since I can't remember if Nick is the name of the man I met with in person or not, I'm just going to call him Man. Man and I met to look at the garage. It's at a property we were preparing to sell. Man was late getting there but did let me know he was leaving another job and running behind. Still, I was waiting for a while. After he looked at the garage, he said he would get a quote to me and I gave him my email address to do so. He texted me several days later and asked me to call so he could tell me the quote over the phone. He had done this with my husband on a different job and I wanted a quote in writing, not verbally. I texted back to please email me the quote. A day or two later I got the quote and it was $1850.00 to power wash, prime, and paint the garage. This is a one-story, two car garage. We had 3 people give us quotes and his was the highest by far (the other two were $885 and $1276). We were of the opinion that the gentleman who gave us the quote for $1276 had overbid because he didn't want to do the job. I thought $1850 was excessive and way out of line with what needed done. We will not be calling for quotes anymore."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
