"I needed some tiles reset and new caulking along the bottom of my shower. Luis was very responsive and communicated with me right away--I felt like my job was important to him. The work was done quickly, the shower floor looks like new and the workmanship is very neat and clean--I appreciate the attention to detail. I will definitely use LAV Contracting for future projects!"

"After months of delaying a much needed gut bathroom renovation, my husband and I were ready to finally jump in and get started in very late November 2015.  After countless hours spent researching both design options and contractors, we selected On The Level due to their overwhelmingly positive Angie's List reviews and their great website.
David Bryant came to our home and discussed our design and product options (we have a standard, small NYC style bathroom). After an honest estimate and assessment of the scope of the work, we were provided with a comprehensive emailed estimate that included both labor and materials. Considering that my husband and I had looked at hundreds of tile options, shower configurations and bathroom fixtures both online and in store for months prior to meeting David, I was very pleased with the way On The Level worked.  I really liked this idea-the quoted budget included parts and labor.  By directing us to a supplier website, On The Level essentially guided us in the right direction and we were able to pick out the entire bathroom from scratch from an extensive range of products and manufacturers. Once our products were selected, we went to On The Level's office to meet with David to discuss product availability as well as the aesthetics of our selected pieces and arrange a timeline of the work to be done.
As stated previously, this was a gut bathroom renovation, and I couldn't have been more impressed with the honesty and trustworthiness of the workers on our job.   Our old bathroom had to be completely ripped out and we were concerned we might be told there were unplanned extras or "issues" which weren't part of the quote (which happens all too often with unscrupulous contractors.)  However, the staff at On The Level were forthright and totally honest and told us the foundation was in good standing and therefore there were no hidden extras.
When the renovation first kicked off, we came home on day one to see that all our floors and doorways were carefully covered with plastic tarp, and our 2 sets of stairs and front door were also papered so as to ensure against damage.  It was obvious the staff at On The Level were very courteous and extremely conscientious and it was for this reason that we trusted the workers to work alone and unsupervised during the day.  We had keys copied for the workers so they could come and go as needed, and we left on vacation for a week during the renovation because we completely trusted the crew.
By the completion of the project, we ended up with a beautiful bathroom and overall a great experience.  On The Level did not rush the job; if anything, they took their time to ensure their work was perfect.  It is for this reason we anticipate using On The Level for our kitchen renovation in the near future.  David Bryant and the entire staff at On The Level are trustworthy, honest, reliable and fair.  Thank you David and crew!!  We appreciate everything you did for us.

"I originally found Mark on Angie's List, with all the great reviews, I had to check him out.  I am a first time home  buyer and Mark helped me with weighing my options with FHA or Conventional.  We ended up going conventional with 5% down, which saved us a lot of money.
I had another quote from another Mortgage lender, which I shared with Mark.  I also told Mark we have 30 days to close, so he definitely had his work cut out for him.  Mark ended up winning the job, he got me the best rate and cheapest closing costs.  He also promised me 30 days closing, which I was very happy he was able to do.  Everything went smoothly, and he was quick to pick up the phone and give me advice throughout the whole process.  He was very upfront with everything, all of the costs were outlined and there were NO hidden fees at the closing table.  I would highly recommend Mark, I am recommending all my family and friends to use him!

"The bathtub itself looks great; the cleanup gets a D+. There's a layer of speckled white paint all over the bathroom tiles, and the reglazer left a trail of sticky, clear epoxy drips from the bathroom to the front door, which was only discovered when our socks started sticking to everything; absolutely maddening to clean up off pre-war wood floors. The hallway carpet has white footprints leading from our door to the elevator and we got in trouble with our building. Seems like some simple adjustments could have been put made by this company - or even suggested to us in preparation of the visit - to avoid a secondary mess."

FAQs for bathtub liner or shower surround installation and replacement projects in Oyster Bay, NY

A bathtub liner is a custom, one-piece shell that slips over your existing tub to hide cracks, stains, and chips. Most are molded from tough acrylic or PVC and can include a matching wall surround for a complete facelift. When a pro bonds the liner in place, you get a watertight seal, a fresh look, and an added layer of safety—all without tearing out the old tub.

After a tech measures your tub and orders a made-to-fit shell, installation takes a day. The installer cleans the surface, applies industrial-grade adhesive, and positions the liner in place. They trim the edges, tighten the drain, and run a smooth bead of silicone caulk to lock out moisture. A quick plumbing check wraps things up, leaving you with a ready-to-use tub by the next morning.

You can pick preset sizes or order a liner molded to your tub’s exact shape, then choose from dozens of colors, patterns, and finishes to match—or refresh—your bathroom. A pro trims and fits the shell on-site, so every contour lines up and accessories like grab bars or shelving land exactly where you want them.

If the liner’s material accepts a fresh coating, a professional can sand it, apply epoxy, and restore the shine in six hours for $480. Swapping in a brand-new liner runs $800 to $1,000 and takes a day or less. Refinishing is the wallet-friendly route when the shell is structurally sound, but it won’t last as long as starting over with new acrylic.

Most liners last three to five years. High-quality acrylic, a snug professional fit, and routine cleaning help you reach the upper end of that range. If moisture seeps behind the shell, mold and odors can shorten its life, so keep an eye out for loose caulk or soft spots and call a professional if you spot trouble early.
