"The office staff was responsive and quick to action; communication with the grounds crew could be heightened. I had the siding of my home removed as well as a deck. A service probably not typically offered and I was thankful that it was done. Communication with me would have made the surprise that my deck and siding was going to be taken (disposed of) to my neighbor on my west side. I don't mind and now sentimentally see the recycled siding on their cabin. It would have been nice to know though. There was an issue when during the process an electrical line was punctured and an appliance (stove) was without electricity, the office staff responded quickly and repairs were made. This was (what I would assume) an offseason application, Oct-Dec., I had contracted for the foundation to be done and waited for completion (December) (all the attachable items, outside electrical box, outside wiring that need to be attached was still hanging off the structure), a bill arrived for payment. I called and there was an immediate response and work began on the foundation. Half of the foundation was complete and I was called for payment and expressed that there was a whole section not done, it was expressed that the foreman had been told I said it wasn't supposed to be done, I hadn't been asked or talked to by anyone. During this, the crew that had half done the foundation during the fall time had hooked up their hose to the outside water faucet to fill water buckets (this sit for some time until I called asking what the status was), and at the same time turned on my water to my already winterized swamp cooler without my knowledge and never shut it off. The result was an early morning surprise for me when I randomly went to the back of my home and saw that my swamp cooler line was spraying a mist of water, had burst and I had six inched of ice on my roof and icicles off the roof. My neighbors were calling to make sure I knew. I called and they were very responsive, they came that day and removed the ice from the roof and side of home. Unfortunately, in doing so, we have the already broken line from the swamp cooler to the faucet, they damaged the faucet attachment to the swamp cooler line, damaged my back door from removing the ice and didn't offer to fix either the back door, hookup to the faucet or the line to swamp cooler. (yeah, this comes back since its springtime now and I am looking at it), the bad taste was when I received a call about the ice clean up and was told it looked like I had already had problems there, grrrr. I didn't even run my swamp cooler the year before and had winterized it previously. Anyway. The job was finally completed in a timely manner. I would highly recommend Quality Stucco West, not because there are communication errors, lack of inspection of work being done, and no communication from the field for mistakes made etc. The repairs do erk me though…. I would recommend them for the Quality of work that was done, when it was completed, the responsiveness of the staff and timely initiative that was taken when a problem was presented. I appreciated the extra work that was done with the deck and siding but would have liked some communication. To reaffirm my recommendation, I have referred two other friends/coworkers to Quality Stucco West. You’re going to need to be observant. (house photo is upside down and I can't fix)"

"The finish is nice, wasn't going for fancy, just basic. The price was reasonable. Workers were nice, polite and cleaned up each day. <br /> The project took so much longer than the it should have. Ordering of materials was slow which increased time by 3 weeks. 1st told me they would be in October 1st or 2nd, but insurance work came up and they had to do that. I had moved all the furniture out, jamming it into other areas of the house. I had to keep calling to find out when and if work was going to commense. Thought I might have to start the bid process all over again, over 3 weeks later finally got started. <br /> The work done on the leveling out the floor over a bad concrete situation was well done. But, when the workers were not removing the 2nd old 1970's aluminum window, they said it was not on the bid, that's when I noticed a bust in the quote that there WERE 2 window removals and only the sliding glass door replacing one window, no new window. Disappointed they would think I'd want to keep that leaky old aluminum window and they didn't call the office about it. The new window was ordered over a week later and had to wait 10 working days for delivery. After living with it, the exterior finish trim has gaps and is cheap looking-doesn't go with the rest of the house and will have to be redone somehow with new trim similar to rest of the house. <br /> Baseboard trim was ordered AFTER most of the completion, 5 days wait. It was ordered by linear feet but didn't consider piece need. Had to wait another 5 days for the additional 5 ft. and it was installed after the carpet was in. New drywall looks good, flat, no joints showing but the texture was excessive, didn't match the lighter texture I wanted that was on one of the walls not being redone, it was the example, made my painting more difficult. After the slow start and delays I didn't want to have it redone. I spent 3 hours just on scraping some of the streaking excess before priming and painting. Did not have to do that on prior work done on the house including the example wall. <br /> Think It would have progressed better to have had a dedicated superintendent or lead that really knew my project and had some authority. Communications had to be with Paul and you can't leave messages on his cell phone, keep calling until you get him and/or call and leave a message at the office. He is also not on site except for occasional inspections, he's a project manager. I feel if there had been someone acting as a superintendent, that had reviewed the bid thoroughly before the start, the omitted window would have been noticed sooner and material ordered promptly. I thought I had reviewed it well, had been very concerned on the sliding glass door replacing one of the windows, that I missed the new window. Most construction projects usually have a forgotten item or something missed, it's a given, but prompt response is imperative. Also, several times workers showed up here, but were then sent elsewhere. <br /> Part of my disappointment in the mentioned aspects of the project is my fault for not being more demanding and having things done/redone, I tend to just fix it myself later. The third item of swamp cooler water damage repair was not done as the timing of work was after the swamp cooler was shut down for the winter and inspection and testing could not be done during the repair. <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Parachute, CO

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
