"Our sales rep (Peter) came out to our house to do a survey and provide options - very knowledgeable and professional.  Doing all three walls of our garage was going to cost more than we had expected, so we opted to just install three overhead racks at this time, as opposed to just doing one or two walls.
They needed to reschedule the original installation (due to mechanical issues on one of the vehicles), but the new appt. went well and they finished the installation more quickly than they had originally estimated.
The total cost of the three racks was actually more (~$100) than the $1000 credit we had purchased for $399, but Peter waived the overage.

"He obviously knew his trade and would answer my questions and show me what was wrong or what I could do in the future for maintenance.  He was professional, worked quickly but carefully.  The door opener runs very quietly but the opener buttons seem to me to be a little flimsy but works ok.  I'm not sure if I could have saved about $100 by just getting a new door opener.

"Clear Cut Building is phenomenal. My wife and I are incredibly satisfied with the Fence and Deck Shane and his team built for us. Shane and his team were diligent and responsive. They took their time to ensure complete perfection. Shane even helps with financing if you do not have access to funds or do not want to deplete savings. Shane and Clear Cut will be finishing a room in our basement by the end of the year. Do not waste your time going with dishonest providers. Go with Clear Cut."

"They called me to schedule quickly but when they came out they informed me that the Angie's Offer did not include building materials, Offer did not clearly state these items as not valid under the offer or excluded."

"Everything went very well. The front door (which was a fairly heavy one-piece unit with side panels, etc and etched glass) was hung slightly off-balanced. We didn't notice till the weather stripping started coming off and also some water had seeped into the room (very little ... we actually noticed the marks, not the actual water). So we called the company and they sent someone out and he took one look at the door and told us that they had put it in incorrectly and he would send a crew to fix it. Sure enough within a few days it was all fixed and the door now swings much more smoothly as well. I know they screwed up a bit...but I have still given them an A, because it was a small mistake, but more importantly they did not give us any excuses or run around. The guy admitted they had done something incorrectly and he went ahead and arranged for it to be fixed asap."

"1) The siding job looks beautiful, and Ben's careful insulating and sealing of all the joints has made the house need less heat & A/C, creating more comfort in the house summer & winter. In the winter, it can go down to 50 deg outside before the heat even comes on. 2) Ben added a 6' x 24' porch with railing across the front of the house, including a slanted roof that he joined into the existing roof. It's beautiful. 3) He added a new 7' x 14' shed on the back of the house, complete with shelves, barn doors, flower window boxes, and interior hangers for tools. 4) on the remodeled master bathroom, he took out the antiquated tub and then built by hand a modern shower of glass & stone, in which the stone looks like beautiful wood. He formed each piece of the shower himself, yielding a custom look. He included a single unit overhead light & very quiet fan, complete with a built in night light, each of which is controllable from switches near the bathroom door. The new shower required him to do extensive moving of existing plumbing. 5) Ben oversaw & directed a subcontractor who installed the slate pavers over his concrete patios. 6) The concrete patio was built by Ben, and then he managed the covering slate installation. 7) Ben has unusual creative abilities and was able to solve unique construction issues as they arose, displaying his extensive construction experience."

FAQs for shed, barn or playhouse building service projects in Parkton, MD

Most sheds larger than six feet by eight feet require a foundation to remain level and dry. A compact tool shed might get by without one, but anything heavier should sit on at least a 4-inch-thick stone-and-gravel pad that extends two feet past the walls. The gravel protects wood skids and promotes drainage. If you want maximum stability—and your budget allows—a poured concrete slab is the strongest option.

Your ideal shed size hinges on purpose. A common 10-by-12-foot kit gives you 120 square feet—plenty for lawn tools and bikes. Need just a spot for a mower and a few rakes? A compact 4-by-7-foot model should work. If you’re envisioning a workshop or hobby room, look at 12-by-16 feet or larger.

A good rule is to raise the shed floor four to six inches above the surrounding soil. That clearance encourages water to drain away instead of pooling beneath the structure. The simple step is especially important for wood floors and skids, helping deter rot, mold, and insect damage while extending the life of your new outbuilding.

Choose the route that fits your goals. Prefab sheds arrive in standard layouts and go up fast—perfect for basic storage on a tight timeline. Custom builds cost more and take longer, but let you add windows, wiring, plumbing, and unique finishes. Balance budget, features, and timeframe before deciding which type of shed is best for your needs.
