"Y'all. I'm putting these people in my phone contacts as "My Plumbers." If being able to trust the people working in your home and knowing the work done is solid are your priorities, then stop right now and hire these guys. I have had a journey, and our house is very old. Our plumbing completely failed a week and a half ago, like... dig up the yard failure. After multiple companies either failed to address the problem, didn't show, ripped me off, or actually made the problem worse, I didn't know what to DO! I found these folks on Angie's List, and the reviews got me thinking, so I had them come out for a quote. They were one of the only companies that were able to get me in before Christmas, when all other places were telling me I'd be in a hotel ringing in the new year! They sent out Anthony and Josh. They have been like the plumbing dynamic duo - they communicate efficiently with one another, and know their job well enough that all the bajillions of hiccups inherent to an old house did not stop them from their goal of getting us back in our home for Christmas - and spend part of their Christmas Eve to make sure it happened for my family. AND they came with smiles on their faces in really horrible weather for an outside job in the cold. Anthony and Josh have been 100% honest with me and straightforward. They explained clearly what we needed done and gave me all the potential options to choose from. I never once felt like they were making unnecessary recommendations or trying to sell me anything. They were simply knowledgeable, helpful, and trustworthy. Theirs was not the cheapest quote, but sometimes you need to consider that you get what you pay for. "For a while, I was really always it seems that anytime I needed something, I couldn't get it timely. The first they would ask, for instance, when my air conditioning went out I had them and it's well have you maintained it. The application being that if you couldn't produce maintenance records they weren't going to do it. So on air conditioner was unhappy. They shocked me . I had a recent leak inside the loft. They sent somebody out here. They really did a good job on it. They were timely. A leak within the draining system inside the wall, I was getting water damage down the wall. They sent a plumber out. He opened up the wall and replaced the piping in there and then patched the wall back up. They don't do finish work on their patch up but hey do the patch. He was a pretty sharp young man. He was responsive. He came and he needed some things. he went and got them. He came right back. That was one that I was wondering if they were even going to do caus they'd been going on for a while. It was a drainage pipe in the wall. It was a manufacturing defect that had probably leaked from some early years of the home and got progressively worse until I could hear it. Actually when I would turn on the water on a certain faucet I could hear it drip down onto a fireplace. That's how I knew what it was. They don't do the finish. You do the finish. They do the patch. The only reason I kept them was because they showed me a different face with that repair. Before it seemed like everything you wanted they had a reason not to do it."

Our situation was that lightning struck our custom home and it had to be razed with the exception of the concrete foundation and garage floor. After an initial meeting to review our plans, site, special conditions and consideration for the level of input we desired, Lee calculated an estimate that was realistic, detailed and SIGNIFICANTLY less than the other big name builders we interviewed.
Rebuilding a new custom home in our Township involved a maze of obstacles and required significant expertise in dealing with permits, blueprints, township meetings, neighbors, rules and of course building inspections and sub-contractors.  Lee navigated all the obstacles with expertise and professionalism.

"We bought our home, which was built in 1901, in the summer of 2021. Two months later, our main sewer line started backing up into the basement. We spent the next month going through five different plumbing companies, spending thousands of dollars on all manner of recommended fixes, none of which solved the problem. Eventually, several of these companies told us that the problem was an old house trap that was completely blocked. The estimates to dig it up and replace it ranged from 10-15 thousand dollars. Needless to say, we felt this was a ridiculous amount of money and thought there had to be another solution. We were then put in touch with Tim Thomas. I was told to give Tim a chance because he was an honest guy, and even if he couldn’t fix our problem, he wouldn’t overcharge me if we had to dig up the trap. Tim came out that week and spent almost two hours analyzing the situation. Much to my surprise, he told me that the digging, which all the other companies told me was absolutely the only way to fix our problem, would not be necessary. He said that he could clean the old trap out and get our line flowing to the street. I must admit that I was a little skeptical, but Tim seemed like such and honest and earnest individual, I decided to give him a shot. I figured we had nothing to lose, and it beats the h*** out of 10-15k right? Tim’s solution took several visits, and I don’t want to give away any of his trade secrets but he eventually got the trap open. This is where the plot thickens. Little did we know, but we were actually dealing with two problems. About six months after he got the trap open, the line backed up on us again. Tim came out again, and we discovered that the main line had collapsed under the street. If you haven’t ever gone through this type of situation, then be prepared because convincing SD-1 that there is something wrong on their end of the sewer line is not easy: It takes a Herculean effort of time, patience, and arm-twisting. Because he is such a good person, Tim took it upon himself to get involved and eventually through his knowledge was able to convince SD-1 that the problem was on their end. I cannot understate how difficult it was to convince the SD-1 people to recognize that the problem was under the street, but Tim was able to do it. Sure enough, they confirmed that the sewer line had completely collapsed under the street, and they came out a week later to replace it. We have not had any problems since. None of this would have happened without Tim’s involvement. To say that Tim is an honest businessman would be the understatement of the century. He is the most honest contractor I have ever worked with for any reason, and I have worked with many over the years of home ownership. He will tell you straight up what he can do to fix your problem. Tim’s honesty and integrity are not the only reasons to hire him. He is a true expert, or I would say genius of his trade. The majority of plumbing companies out there today are simply in the business of replacing parts. Much like the mechanics who no longer fix car problems but just replaces old parts with new, these modern plumbing companies want to charge people exorbitant amounts of money to replace sewer lines, etc., partly because they know the customers are ignorant and at their mercy but also because they no longer practice the “art of plumbing.” In contrast, Tim practices the “art of plumbing”, meaning he actually tries to repair or fix the existing plumbing. Tim is a rare commodity in this culture as he still practices a trade that has become a lost art in our culture of quick fixes and fast money. Tim is a one man show, so you must be patient. It took about six months to eventually resolve our problem, but in reality, we were also dealing with two problems, the trap and the collapsed line. If you want a quick fix, call one of these big plumbing companies and let them take you for a ride. You will likely get the quick fix you are looking for, but it might bankrupt you in the process. However, if you are willing to be patient and let Tim work his magic, then he will amaze you while saving you thousands of dollars in the process. I cannot recommend Tim enough, especially if you find yourself in a similar situation. Call Tim Thomas today!"
