"The installation of the door was done well; however, the work area was not adequately protected (no floor protection) and a crowbar was dropped on my new hardwood floor and put a gash in the floor. There was also a communication issue between the sales department and the installers on putting on new break metal around the outside of the door. Yes I would use them again but I would confirm everything with the installers before the start and I would make sure they prep the area to protect the property."

"Amazing system! Did a lot of research on alarm systems....so glad I went with 1st security! They came to my house and explained everything to me, were not pushy at all. Came and installed the system a few days later....took the time to explain everything to me and did an amazing job with the installation. And the price is excellent, both the installation fee and the month to month. So happy with my decision."

"The installation was efficient and satisfactory; however, I would have appreciated it if the sales rep, when meeting with me at my home and going over the options, would have pointed out that the color of the window frame would not match the color of surrounding wood."

"I met with the owner, who wrote out an estimate on the spot. He told me he would use which ever paint I wanted. Once I made a decision, he was ready to do the work within a week. The crew came out at 7 am and finished around 3pm. The front door was the most difficult area to paint. It had multiple layers of paint and cracked paint all over. They did a good job of removing the layers and cracks. They did a nice neat job of painting."

"He informed me of a reasonable assessment and diagnostic fee of about $80. I was please with this professional fee. He was flexible in scheduling and assigned Hash, one of his experienced technicians. Hash kept me updated on his specific ETA that day and was precisely on time. He inspected its' operation, etc., and reviewed with me the need to adjust the chain, replace the springs that he estimated were about 7 years old, align the rails and adjust the rollers. When he was finished the door operated perfectly as well as a new system and I felt very secure. Tight, quiet and smooth! Hash was skilled and very professional!!!"

"It went great. The door on the screened porch was disintegrated and needed to be replaced. He arrived on-time and started working. The door size we had purchased (the closest size door they had) was way off and, he could have just asked us to buy a different door. Instead, he was able to send us with a list of supplies, then he managed to modify the porch wall, re-screen the door area of the porch wall, and then hang the new door. He did a beautiful job."

"My partner and I recently moved into a new home and we were excited about getting a kitchen remodel.  We wanted the entire kitchen gutted and replaced. We began to get estimates on our dream kitchen and slowly our dream began to die. The estimates we so astronomical that we thought we would never be able to redo this kitchen. One guy came out and spent two hours trying to convince us to take asecond on our house so his company could do the work. Long story short, my neighbor was having a new bathroom installed and I asked her about her contractor. She just began bragging about this company, how they had done several jobs for her and how good they were.  So after they completed her job I asked her if I could take a look and I was floored, it was beautiful.  I got the number and we called that night.  The gentleman that came out to do the estimate. He was very respectful and plain spoken, not a saleman type at all.  He listened to us, answered our questions  and took notes. Later that week we got our estimate and tears came to my eyes. It was 8k cheaper than the cheapest estimate we had recieved.  We decided to go for it. The contractor, James walked us through the job. He and his men showed up everyday on time, covered my furniture and flooring to save from dust and were always respectful despite the fact I asked a million questions and had a
couple change. At the end my kitchen turned out beautiful. I could not be more happy. I will be calling on this company again.

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Perry-point, MD

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
