"I called half a dozen companies, and DB's was the only one able to send someone out on the same day. Trevor worked to understand an unusual problem, and he figured out (after ruling out foundaton issues) that the root cause was not a sewer pipe leak, but an issue brought about by an earlier spillage and a broken dehumidifier. Trevor was very courteous, clear, and helpful. After he pinpointed the issue, he walked me through appropriate next steps I could/should take, and he referred me to another firm to help with mold/renovation issues related to what he examined today. I was very pleased with the experience and cost, and I'd hired DB's again."

"Appleton Campbell just did a complicated 2-day gas furnace/AC unit installation attached our home. It was, probably, the most professional and well-handled vendor experience I have ever had, particularly with some complications that occurred due to things found after the old system was removed. From the sales process to the pre-project staff to the office staff who alerted me each time the crew was heading to my home, to the on-site crew of Mike W., Danny R. and Jake A., the experience was A+. Even when the one issue was presented, they came up with a solution and I remained confident they would. They were extremely clean and neat, during and after they were done. I did getting three bids for this and they were slightly higher than the others, but I felt more comfortable and frankly, I believe I got my moneys worth as they also had to fabricate and redo a complicated return and vent line, and they also moved the gas line, refrigerant line and other conduits/poles/switches to a more convenient area than with my prior (similar but older) system. In short, I felt like the value was there. They also included a Home Savings Agreement for one year and left me with a consolidated notebook of all relevant documents. Cheapest is not always better, and with all they did, the pricing was very, very close. I've known AC for years in the community, but only used them on a couple of occasions. I've become a huge fan and will use them again (I have other systems!)."

"There are a number of issues we had with Clover Plubming:
1) We started with a request for an estimate to be provided by Clover.  After not hearing back by the promised deadline, I had to call back several times before finally receiving the estimate.  
2) We decided to move forward with the installation.  They came out a second time to look at where the plumbing line was to be installed.  A date was scheduled when they would come to do the work.  They had the date confused and called us en route on the wrong date creating confusion on our end.
3) The estimate we received was for a plumbing line with copper pipes.  Halfway into the job, we noticed that PVC pipes were being used instead citing space constraints.  We would have been okay with the change, but it would have been nice to have been told BEFORE the work was started, especially since we were home to discuss any such issues that arose.  
4) Because of this change, an adjustment to our initial estimate needed to be made.  Given that copper pipes are costly, we expected a significant reduction in cost (though we weren't sure bc an itemized estimate was not provided).  However, the revised estimate was only $100 less the original estimate citing that additional work had to be done.  This left a bad taste in our mouth as a customer for a number of reasons - a) it seemed as though "phantom" work was created to charge us the same amount b) if additional work was required, that should have been communicated to us c) if this additional work was missed from the initial estimate, it's an error on their part that I do not need to pay for.
5) It took Clover Plumbing beyond what I believe to be a reasonable time to generate a revised invoice (2-3 hrs).  The tech completed the work and had to wait in our home for an additional 45-60 minutes.  We had things planned for the day we could not get to and was very unprofessional in my opinion.
6) I received a call several days after the work was completed stating that a number was missing from the credit card number we provided.  I gave her the number again to which she said that was what she had.  I had to tell her that an AMEX card has one less digit than a Visa/MC and that a number was not missing.
To their credit, the tech arrived on time and the the work completed seems good (though time will tell), but the lack of communication and admin issues with billing will make us not use this company again.
