"Before I called 1st Response Pest Management, I knew two things: there is a hole in my siding and there is a woodpecker that frequents my property (much to my ire). The hole is high enough up that I couldn't see it very well (my eyesight is not great), so I needed an inspection to rule out pests before I have the hole repaired. I called the office and spoke with Bob, a very charming man who took the time to explain several different scenarios that could be happening. He suggested one particular scenario was most likely, scheduled an inspection, and gave me a rough estimate of how much treatment may cost (which was quite reasonable). The next day I met John, his son, who arrived (on time, which I appreciated) for the inspection. He was courteous and patient as he explained that the hole appeared to have been caused by water damage, not a woodpecker. He was very professional as he asked if there were any other areas I needed to have inspected while he was there, but never tried to sell me any unnecessary services or persuade me to sign a contract, etc. He was very professional & friendly, didn't charge for the inspection, then gave me his card and left. Although no work was done, it is frankly one of the best consultations I've had in quite some. If we do require pest control services in the future, we will *absolutely* contact them to do the work."

"Jake did a thorough inspection, and quoted several treatment options. First, he trapped two squirrels who were entering the house through a hole above a gutter. Once he was sure the attic was clear and all the squirrels were caught, he installed a metal covering over the entrance hole that was similar in color to the wood trim. At another part of the house, there was a hole in the wood paneling of a wall where small animals or birds could enter. Jake also installed a metal plate of similar color over this hole, insuring that no animal could get in. All in all, Jake was personable, on time, and very responsive to my calls and texts."

We had roaches off and on for many months, despite a good cleaning regime etc., and eventually realized other units in our shared building had the same issues. Mica quickly and precisely diagnosed the source of the issue, was real with us about time and possible costs, worked with us in coordinating multiple units, patiently answered all questions, and in the end helped my neighbors and I deal with this extremely persistent issue in a relatively short time frame. He approached treatment with a lot of care and thought, in particular listening and adjusting for our concerns re: safety of our young toddler. This was a big one for us! "I thought that we had a yellowjacket problem. John Stryker arrived exactly at the promised time, took one look and explained that we had what are called field ants. They had created a mound in the lawn in a nest that was about 18 inches in diameter. John explained that the nest was probably about 2 feet deep and used a device to inject the insecticide deep into the ground. He took the time to explain that the grass roots around the nest would have been destroyed and that we would need to reseed the small area. The price was reasonable and the service was prompt and efficient. I'm happy to recommend the company and if we encounter problems with other pests, call Stryker Pest Control again."

"The technician, Josh, arrived as scheduled. He was very professional. He examined the vent and identified the pests as yellow jackets wasps. Based on the number of wasps he felt certain that there was a nest inside the chimney. He also inspected adjacent areas for signs of the wasps. He then treated the vent with three different chemicals to kill the wasps. It's been two days and there are no signs of insects. I was concerned about the nest because the air intake vent leads directly to the fireplace; thereby increasing the chances that the wasps could get into the house."

"First we paid $300 to get rid of a groundhog that was living under our back porch. Critter Control used a live trap to capture it, then took it away and euthanized it. Later, we paid another $300 to get rid of a skunk living under the back porch. Then we paid over $1000 for Critter Control to install exclusion fencing in the planting bed adjacent to the porch. It worked! We came home one day to find the dirt from the planting area flung everywhere as the critter (most likely a skunk) attempted to seek shelter under our porch. We restored the soil, then later found many small trenches (chipmunks?) up against the fencing. We’re happy we made the investment: We don’t have to worry about critters chewing on the porch supports, and they’re also leaving our spring vegetables alone."
