"Mitch researched different kinds of windows to find ones that best suited my needs. I was hesitant to replace perfectly good windows just to have them open, but the price he provided was very reasonable compared to my other quotes. The installers did a great job of removing and replacing the inside moldings so I didn't have to paint them. I painted the trim anyway to refresh it, but their work was so neat that it really wasn't necessary. These guys made the job very easy, and it was definitely worth the price to have functioning windows. I would hire Scott Brothers again in a minute and definitely recommend them."

"Angelo Associates was absolutely wonderful to work with and will be reaching out to them again as my first option if I need other services in the future. From the pre-job scoping with Dean about my door widening / installation job, to communication through the process of ordering the door and conducting a final pre-job walkthrough, to Dave's expert craftsmanship during the job where he wore different hats as an electrician, drywall installer, and carpenter framing and installing the door, they exceeded my expectations. The company excels in communication with you as the client and the work product was top notch."

"The installers on the day of the project and the owners have always been very kind and proessional. They are not the least expensive company. However, theyhave a good product in those "Marvin" windows and they are professional and respectful of your home. When decided on a company to do your windows at least always keep them in the mix of your consideration as they should always be on your top three list of companies - $, reputation, professionalism in text, emails, phone call and on site visists are important to me. I feel I paid a fair price."

"If I could give them zero or negative stars that would be more to the quality of the work they did for me. I contracted them to install 13 windows in a brand new patio door on my mobile home. Dan and his partner were the installers and initially I thought it was just some lack of attention to detail and poor quality in their workmanship but it turned out it was completely just negligent ********! Almost every window leaked cold air when it came time in the winter and after they had finished installing everything towards the end of November beginning of December. Missing caulk lines and having the use my own insulation and drywall because of the negligent job they did. They had to come in and recaulk around almost every window and or put insulation in but I ended up doing most of that myself. The worst was the opening they left on each corner of my patio door and a few other windows and with all the rain and snow I ended up with black mold and fungus growing inside at the base of the door"

FAQs for new windows service projects in Pittsburgh, PA

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
