"Call these guys if you want peace of mind! We first used Sonny & Austin (father & son) 4 years ago after our electric gate wouldn't open during a freeze. We got 4 estimates. Casp3r Gates & Garage were the best price for the quality of service and experience. Also their references were great. We've used them every year since then to service our gate and garage doors and have never regretted it. I simply text (214) 546-4244 and either Sonny or Austin responds within 10-15 mins. No matter how busy they are, they always fit us in if we have an urgent matter. We also like their 45 day guarantee so we can call them back if anything needs to be tweaked "

"Very well pleased with service. Came out in about 30 minutes after I called. Gave me a quote after talking about the situation. Went and got parts and was back in an hour and started the work. Went the extra mile and did more stuff than he quoted, no extra charge. Stayed with me and went over software and made sure that I new how to work everything. Very impressed with work and that he got it done in one day on New Year's eve. Also he left the job cleaner than when he got here. "

FAQs for garage door opener repair or adjustment projects in Plano, TX

Garage door costs range somewhat broadly, depending on the type you choose. However, you’ll also need to factor in labor costs, which vary from state to state and between pros.

A chain driven operator costs between $150 - $250. For a belt driven operator it is usually $160 - $450. A screw-driven operator is between $250-$500.

To keep garage door opener repair costs down, you should check that the whole apparatus is working normally on a regular basis. This means making sure that the tracks of your door are greased and fully operational, and that the door itself is in good condition.

Installing a new garage door opener runs from $250 to $500 at least. If your repair costs are close in cost to that range or if your garage door is 10 to 15 years old, you should probably replace it instead of repair.

However, it’s a better idea to fix your garage door opener if it’s less than eight years old or if repair costs are less than replacing.

Garage door openers usually last between 10 and 15 years. However, several factors contribute to how long your garage door opener can last. If you schedule regular inspections and practice proper care, you can maximize your garage door opener’s lifespan, saving money in the long run. As a general rule, practice the same care for your garage door opener as you would the door itself.

These tell-tale signs indicate your garage door is going bad, including:

  • Not closing or opening at all

  • The door reversing when you try to open and/or close it

  • Inconsistent opening and closing; more noise than usual (grinding, scraping, or banging)

  • Sticking or stalling when you try to open or close it

If you experience one or more of these signs, it’s time to call a professional garage door repair service.
