"I was having some staining issue with our pool surface that chemicals could not fix. Or so I thought. I had Aaron, (owner) come out for an estimate to resurface. I had other companies also come over to give an estimate. Aaron, went further. He immediately realized from the stains that the pool was improperly prepped years ago when we had it done. Causing the issue I have not been able to fix for the past 6 months. The stains were spreading on the walls and floor of the pool. He recommended a" non-drain acid wash". He was at my home about 45 minutes because he took the time to use the muratic acid by pouring down a pvc pipe on the green spots to see if that would work. It IMMEDIATELY caused the stains to vanish. I use a few cups of acid a week for pool maintenance, but this "wash" will require several gallons over the next few days. Aaron knew he would not get the pool resurface job because his idea worked. He was honest, professional and took the time to explain to me how to fix it"

"My experience with Responsible Pools was nothing short of wonderful, throughout. Dean was prompt, pleasant and thorough with our initial communications, even responding after hours. He arrived the next day, and thoroughly accessed my current pool system setup, then spent a LOT of time explaining detailed various options for me (my "setup" request was a very unique, unusual one). He was honest and instead of trying to upsell, he recommended a smaller unit, suggesting the larger one would be "overkill" for my small pool. "From the initial phone call to the office to the completion of the installation of my new heat pump, Ten Plus Service, was courteous, knowledgeable ( I couldn't get over how much Judy, the office manager knew - more than many repair people who have come to my home previously) and efficient.  Not only did they not waste my time, but more importantly they didn't waste my money.
They could have easily pushed for the repairs, so that it was done with them.  Instead they advised me what the best course to take would be, and they had no guarantees I would purchase the heat pump from them.

While they were on site, they also noticed my Navigator wasn't working correctly, and told me what the problem probably was, but as their rates were higher than many of the local pool stores, it would make more sense for me to take the cleaner locally for repairs, instead of paying them to fix it.

I did learn an important lesson from them -- in the future when I am going to buy an appliance or an automobile, I am going to ask the service department which units/cars they have performed the most repairs performed on, so I can be aware of potential future problems BEFORE I make the purchase.  The sales department or the local store is not who is going to be honest about failures (if they in fact are aware of them), they just want the sale/comission.  I had actually never realized this before how valuable the service techs are -- thanks Paul and Dexter of Ten Plus Service.

"I’m writing this review because this company did not do a good job, they did a GREAT job. Today it seems most companies just want to do the minimal to get by, well that's not the case with Tropical Pools. They did the best resurfacing on our existing pool that money can buy and they were very reasonable with their price. Not only did they do the job as per our contact. But each day they cleaned up the area around our pool deck and made contact with me as to what they have done and what they plan to do next. Keeping us updated gave me and my wife piece of mind. That in itself is priceless! The job was completed within the time frame that was stated in our contract and at the price quoted. What more can I say? If you are looking for an excellent pool company that has ethics and morals look no further than Tropical Pools of Central Florida."
