"Late Saturday night my husband realized that many of the outlets in the basement weren't working.  After further inspection on Sunday we realized that many of our outlets, lights, and appliances (clothes dryer, air conditioning, furnace) weren't working either.  We decided we needed to call someone to come out on Sunday.
I tried calling several places and left messages. Now, 4 hours later, no one has called me back. One place answered the phone, but couldn't get anyone to our house until Thursday. We have five kids, and just no way we can wait that long.  
The only other place that answered the phone was Universal Electric. They had someone out to the house within an hour.  He was able to test the power coming into the house, and found that one of the lines coming into the house wasn't working. That was something that the power company had to fix, but without knowing that we never would have known to call them. He called the power company for us and explained the problem, and the power company came out and gave us a temporary line so that we could have electricity until they can get the line worked on later this week.
We so appreciate Universal Electric's promptness both in answering the phone on Sunday and being able to come out right away.

"I need to update my review on Crescendo Home Theater.  They finished phase 1 today and I could not have been more pleased with their workmanship and the quality products they used.  What really stood out in my opinion was when my wife was helping a friend move a box spring and mattress Douglas stepped in and took Barb's end and help carry it downstairs.  Now Douglass was in the middle of some rather complicated wiring but  he never hesitated to lend a helping hand.  
Daniel, the owner, was out here all day Saturday helping his guys install the system.  He had his sleeves rolled up and worked right next to his guys.  Crescendo  Home Theater is a first class operation and I highly recommend that you have them give you a bid on your next home theater, security, access control, etc... They explain things and answer all of  your questions.

"I bought a deal for $49 for a kitchen or bathroom design consultation but had them move forward with the kitchen and bathroom renovation.  They could've followed the schedule, and done a better job overall. We're still waiting for them to redo some work that was insufficient."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
