Customers say: True professional

"I used Scott's Home Renewal for a first floor renovation about three years ago, was pleased and hired them again for this. Not the cheapest contractor, but definitely the best I have used here. First class professionals; first rate subs, especially the tile and glass people The custom glass door arrived with the wrong specs, and the glass contractor got the factory to make a new one with only one day of waiting.. If you want it done right, contact Scott's."

"Great ! Owner Tim came out and did an emergency tarp -- in the rain, as my BR ceiling was leaking. Jan ( office manager ) worked with my insurance until the bid & repairs were enough to give me a great outcome. Their repair guy was professional, friendly and did a good job. I would not hesitate to use them again & to recommend them !"

"After going through our home he said he didn't see anything that would be a sign of either mold or mildew. He made comments on what we were doing right to prevent it such as boxes and other items in basement up off the floor on pallets, and the way we have our basement ventilated. <br /> I asked about other testing and he said they do provide it at extra cost, but did not see any reason for doing and further testing. I really appreciated this as especially since I was asking about it...he could have very easily said "sure" and sold us a few hundred dollars of testing we did not need and that would really give us no further information. I am very pleased with Gene and feel like he is a VERY honest businessman. <br />"

"Great experience and very happy with the finished product. I hired Shawn at Heuss Construction to finish my basement. I had heard good things based of his roofing jobs and knew that he also did a lot of remodels. He came in and gave me an estimate, explained what all needed done, and completed the project faster than promised. I was very happy with ALL the work done and would definitely recommend him and his company for any home improvements or remodels."

"Removed old fixtures in approx. half a day. When installing new vanity and sink had problems with trying to use old p-trap. Finally purchased new pvc p-trap. Discovered clogged drain and broken drain pipe for sink and had to call in plumber. Plumber (Scott) arrived within the hour and repaired the leak. Blake repaired the drywall without extra charge. New faucet was defective so that had to be replaced. Vinyl flooring was a couple of days late arriving but Blake and Tony were very accomodating. For re-install they started at 10:00am on Wednesday and finished at 12:30pm on Friday even with the unexpected plumbing problems. Blake got the job done and it looks very nice."

"He was very attentive to our needs and worked within our budget. He didn't try persuade us into something we didn't need. He let me order my <br /> front door to save third party costs! He was very thorough with his work and made sure there were no shortcuts made. <br /> He follows up with his work. He had fixed some issues with our privacy fence, but one of the issues weren't resolved- he is coming back out tomorrow to fix! <br /> We had a long drawn out issue with an outside contractor that he had hired ( Alan's Seamless Gutters ) <br /> and he followed up and made sure that the problems were resolved. I would definitely recommend Tony to others and will be using his services in the future. <br />"

"Jeremy and his team did a fantastic job being punctual, open to ideas, and accommodating. Not only did he listen to ALL of my desires for the job, but he was very good at facilitating a tight time-line (of around 6 weeks). I custom ordered a lot of the finishes - including a bathroom vanity made from reclaimed barn wood - and Jeremy and his crew handled it all in stride with great professionalism. The job turned out absolutely wonderful and all of my friends and family are in love with the new space! <br /> I am definitely going to use Grandview Construction again when I finish the remainder of the basement. <br />"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Pleasantville, IA

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
