Customers say: True professional

"Grant and Chris are fabulous. They should have 6-7 stars, honestly. Excellent communication! They came when they said they’d be here, did excellent and thorough work, took it in stride when I added tasks to the job, gave me a fair price for their work, and were very cautious about cleaning up and taking care when coming in and out and walking through the house. They are also highly skilled and well-rounded. They handled a leak, roofing, deck replacement, fixing siding, securing railing, trimmimg and cutting a wall, setting in cabinets, wall repair, paint, repairing tile and vinyl plank floor and moving an electrical outlet. Other estimates I had for the same jobs insisted I’d need a roofer and electrician in addition to the carpentry and general wall work. These two did it all. They were efficient with their time but never rushed. They took the time for each task that was required. On top of that, they are just really good guys with pleasant and easy-to-be-around energy. They will be my go-to duo for the other projects on my list when my budget allows. I would trust them with any project for my home. So very glad I found them. Highly, highly, highly recommend."

"Chris is an amazing worker and came in and worked fast. He was super nice and described exactly what he’d be doing. He’s redone my disposal (kitchen) and my faucet in the main bathroom. He is definitely the first person I would recommend to anyone needing home improvement!! "

"Red Box took my blueprints and ideas and turned them into a functional and beautiful living space. If a problem came up I was informed and we discussed it and got a fix in place. We moved some ductwork that was preventing cabinetry from fitting as nice as the plans showed, involved moving a wall a couple inches ... that could have been a major up charge but it along with all the other minor/major things we changed in midstream were handled MORE than fair dollar wise and very professionally and courteous from a personal standpoint. Even when we hit a HUGE snag on the egress window in the basement (City Code ... grrr) we got it figured out and taken care of without any trouble. The best thing I can say is that all the naysayers ... it's too expensive, why are you changing your house why not buy new ... they all now say that what we did was a bargain and worth the time and money to create MY ideal home. It's nice to know even a 60 year old house can be turned into a modern and comfortable home that will easily be well enjoyed for another 60 years. If you need a quality job, not a CHEAP job (Red Box isn't a bargain basement contractor, for a fair price done by a conscientious contractor who will work with you to make your plans/ideas come alive then call Dean at Red Box."

"We were kept well informed of the days for the repairs to take place.  All of the people came at the correct times and were very professional when talking to them about what was to be done and how they were going to do it.  We were very pleased at the workmanship and final results. <br />"

"The week prior we had contacted another local handyman to do the installation, and had he cancelled on us the day of the appointment.  I called these guys and they had a cancellation the following day and installed the fan for us then.  They were extremely professional and even cleaned up after themselves.  We have some smaller projects we want done around the house, and will for sure us them again."

"Sam was great to work with.   He was efficient, conscientious, and careful.  We had him come back a second time to do some additional work for us.  All work was done very well and looks great!"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Port Byron, IL

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
