"Quality windows at reasonable prices and with excellent customer service. We had a fantastic experience replacing all of the original windows in our home. Everyone was patient as we learned about the process and were quick to respond to questions and changes with our estimate. Installation crew members were friendly and respectful and cleaned up after themselves nicely."

"This is the second time we've used Mainsteam Home Improvement to replace original windows in our house. Several years ago, they replaced half of our windows. This year, when we decided to replace the remaining 5 windows, they were our first call. The windows work effortlessly and look great! They were professionally installed and the staff was great to work with on this project."

"We had used Suburban Construction in the past, which is why we decided to go with them again. It took Suburban Construction 3 days to do a day and a half job. Each day they showed up several hours late and left early. The clean up was poor as we are still finding wood and metal window clippings around the yard. The installation crew was double-booked, but they pushed us to have the windows installed on the chosen dates, when we wanted it done later. The caulking job was poor, and the team leader talked badly about his workers putting the blame on them. We complained to the company and their response was basically "as long as everything got taken care of..." There are plenty other companies to choose from; we wouldn't choose Suburban again. <br />"

"Overall the service from start to finish has been very professional. Not only professional but their knowledge of how to make things fit into a space and look good our exceptional. My bathroom for my rental unit looked so good, I had to hire them again! This time they did not disappoint. The second bathroom for my own home is so nice, that I can't believe it is mine. It feels luxurious and came under the price point I wanted to pay. Not only that, they did it during the shortages and helped source and get everything in a timely manner. Their workers Jason, Chris, and Greg all answered questions I had about everything during the process and was never left in the dark. I already plan to hire them again in the future. 10/10 would recommend again!"

"If I would've rated Iossi 1.5 years ago when we had four windows replaced, I would've given them an A. Unfortunately, we trusted our experience with this company would repeat itself and it certainly didn't. We ordered the rest of our windows (about 13 and 2 sliding glass doors) plus all new siding this time around. Day one started out great, but it all went downhill from there. While trying to replace our sliding glass door, the men encountered dry rot and the door came off with a huge chunk of our house. That was fine and they did their best to seal up the hole in the house that afternoon. The 1st of many problems came the next day. As they worked to repair the door, they accidentally broke our brand new concrete patio. We questioned it and the finger pointing started. They said there was already a crack (though I had pictures from the night before which showed no crack) and blamed the concrete company. Then instead of helping us fix the issue, the problem was on our shoulders. The framing of the back door wasn't completed and neither was the siding on that part of the house because it was up to us to schedule and pay for the new concrete patio that I'd paid for to be fixed. Once we got different concrete quotes, we had it fixed by the original company at our expense. Iossi didn't stop short of billing us for the windows during that time despite the fact our back patio door was still not framed and parts of it open to the elements of bugs! (I will say they took $125 of their labor off the bill - but the concrete accident was $800!) When we had it done, we told them to resume the project, but the siding guys were now on another job. So fast forward 3 months - that's how long it took to finish our ranch! It was up to the siding guys to complete framing the patio door as the window men didn't come back. And to top it off, our windows had two broken locks that we had to have them come out and fix (more time we had to be home from work). With all this said, I would think twice about the job you are asking this company to do before you hire them. It's a great product, but for the amount of money we spent, I"m extremely disappointed with their professionalism. No company should blame another when an accident happens. Workers should show up when we stay home from work to let them in. And the biggest disappointment (besides my extra expenses), if they would've worked longer than 4-hour days, it might not have taken 3 months!"

"Best was the average price but had the MOST professional and personable employees. They were very considerate, worked with my schedule and gave me addresses of houses they had done to see the work AND help me pick my color by seeing them on a house, not just a sample. The crew were pleasent and punctual. The house looks great. I wish they did more types of construction as I would always use them."

"Aaron and his guys came in and removed the old roof shingels that were VERY bad, and had a new roof done, finished and cleaned up by the next afternoon. Everything was cleaned up and the new roof really makes my home look better. They took the time to secure the roof with tarps the night they tore off the old shingels, just in case it rained. Aaron called the next day to make sure I didn't have any additonal questions. I am usually pretty handy, but this would have been a big enough project that I needed a professional. That is why I called Aaron. It was done and finished in onlytwo days and the cost couldn't be beat. <br /> His window team had done some work for me in the past when I first bought my house. The windows that were installed did not have any aluminum wrapping around them, so they looked bad and would have required painting and maintenance. They guys came in and trimmed out my windows in no time, and now 10 years later they still look great. All I do is clean the outside of the house every spring. No maintenance is such a time saver. <br />"

FAQs for new windows service projects in Port Byron, IL

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
