"Great work! The order process for the door was easy and the doors arrived early and to specifications. Scheduling for the install was clear. The team -- Mike and John -- were on time, professional, took care to clean the workspace, did a quality install -- including the repair of sub flooring damage as the old doors were letting rain water inside. The new doors look beautiful and the "rain water" issues resolved. Phantom screens for the patio doors still need to go in. So looking forward to that part of the job coming to fruition."

"My primary complaint is cost and not service. The service provided was very good. Precision Garage Doors were able to come out promptly on the next day (Saturday) after I called them at 4pm on a Friday. The technician replaced the torsion springs and even repaired a few minor items on our garage doors at no additional charge. The technician was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. That being said, the price that they charged for the torsion spring parts. The labor charges seemed reasonable, but they wanted to charge $250 for *each* torsion spring. I could not find online anywhere where a torsion spring cost more than about half of that ($125). When asked why these torsion springs cost so much, the technician was sort of vague. In following up with the company, I generally got the run-around. They could not provide the manufacturer's part number, and the manufacturer that they use only sells wholesale and will not disclose the price that they charge. No one could really justify the outrageous price that they were charging for the parts, but I needed my garage door fixed as soon as possible, and I didn't have time that weekend to fix it myself due to other obligations. Overall, if you want the problem fixed promptly and properly, and don't mind spending a lot of money, then Precision Garage Doors will do the job for you. If you are handy enough to install torsion springs yourself, you would save a ton of money."

"We were pleased with the installation of our fire/security system. The workers explained what they were going to do and showed us how to use the alarm. When they were done the installation, they cleaned up. They also gave us a discount because we went through Angie's List."

"My house keys were stolen on a Friday evening, and I called Joseph at 8:00 am Saturday morning to change the locks. He arrived within the hour, and spent a couple of hours replacing the locks, and fixing them (difficult, because they had been installed so poorly the first time -- I had never been able to use the deadbolts before). He was quick, efficient, very friendly, and made sure I was satisfied. The price may seem high, but I felt is was very reasonable considering all he did to fix the problems with the door jams, etc., and make sure everything was secure."

"The estimator, Albert, was very knowledgeable about his product and forthright on his answers to my questions and concerns about the installation and the windows and doors guarantees.  The installation crew, led by Tom, was here and began work on time and finish on time the same day.  The focused on the installation job and cleaned up like there was never any work done.  Each knew their job and worked like a well orchestrated team.  They did not waste any time even for lunch. They were courteous and went about their business skillfully.  They  helped with some moving of furniture I wasn't able to complete prior to their arrival as expected by the installer.  After the installation they managed some small tasks I asked for even though it was not something expected of the installation team.
Ironically another team of installers working on a neighbor's AC stood around for at least 30 minutes observing the window installation team as if to admire them.
Without question the replacement window installers were extremely profession and respectful of my property and could meet or exceed any customer's expectations.  The estimator was straight forward with his quote and answers, and I trusted I had the best product for a fair price.

"From start to finish the job was seamless.   The salesperson came to discuss what door we wanted.   He was really professional and was able to answer all my questions.    When the door was ready for installation the crew came out and the installation went smoothly.   Over two years later and the door is still perfect with no problems.

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Port Republic, MD

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
