Customers say: True professional

"C & C Roofing guaranteed us no leaks and even promised to come back out if the leak continued anytime within the next few months after their repairs. We are pretty much through the rough weather season and that was not necessary as everything seems to have been taken care of properly on the first visit."

"Elias Evans and his co-worker, Alex, arrived on time and immediately got to work demolishing the downstairs bathroom floor by quickly removing the carpet and sub-floor and preparing it for the new tile surface.
Five hours after he arrived the new tile floor (48 square feet) had been installed. The following day Elias arrived on time and finished installing the baseboard, the new backsplash and completed all the grouting.

On the third day he arrived on time and finished cleaning all the new tile surfaces and applied a sealer.

Elias did an excellent job and finished the project on time and within budget -- just as he had promised.  His rates were excellent and we believe he gave us great service and value for the money we spent.

Again, we strongly recommend Elias Evans and plan to use his company's services again in the future.x,
"

"The house next door to me had a fire which damaged the side of my house. I had old asbestos siding which couldn't be replaced so I had to look into a full re-siding of the whole house. I did some research of options on-line and decided on fiber cement siding. I'd checked AL for contractors and before talking to them, was leaning toward someone else who was very highly rated. That guy turned out to be a nice guy but sort of flaky, not getting things to me when he said he would, losing my email address etc. NW SIding was professional from beginning to end. Ken, the primary guy who came out to do the estimate and was the contact in the office for everything, was very helpful and informative. I sent A LOT of questions via email and he answered promptly and thoroughly. They subcontracted the insulation and painters but I had no problem with any of them. They came when they said they would and did a fantastic job. The house looks great (though I'm still adjusting to the new color which is my problem, not theirs!) and I would absolutely work with them again. They cleaned up after themselves around the yard too!

"Haven't settled final bill yet, but I felt I got good insight and advice on the first survey. The workers were very skilled and efficient, adding some extra little helpful details as they went. They kept me informed and were easy to work with. We loved the results and would recommend these guys anytime."

"I have been using them for 3 years for multiple projects and would not go to somebody else. They also built a cabin in the woods. It was built 10 miles from the road so it was like carrying all the stuff up the path. They also did the garage and remodeling of the house, mostly kitchen and a little bit of plumbing work in the bathroom. I am still using them and I would be using them for the next thing that will be coming up too."

"I had them reattach a 10ft section of gutter. It was in an awkward spot but Jeremy persisted and adjusted to ensure the job was done right. Work was completed the same day I requested a quote. Great service at a very fair price."

FAQs for glass blocks service projects in Portland, OR

You should seal glass block walls every two to three years. Sealing glass blocks is especially important for shower walls because the glass blocks get hit with water frequently. You can use silicone sealant to fill the outside perimeter joints of the wall on both sides. If you notice any gaps or holes before that period, it's best to fill them as soon as they appear.

While it's possible to replace a single glass block if one breaks, it's a task that requires caution and expertise. The process involves carefully removing the damaged block by chipping out the surrounding mortar, which can be hazardous due to sharp glass fragments. For your safety, it's recommended to wear appropriate protective gear, such as safety goggles, gloves, and long-sleeved clothing. However, to ensure the replacement is done safely and correctly, it's best to hire a professional who has the necessary skills and equipment.

Glass blocks are designed to be quite durable and can withstand a fair amount of impact. While they are made of glass and can chip or break under extreme conditions, solid glass block windows are robust and offer substantial strength. Reinforcing rods and mortar used in installation contribute to their overall sturdiness. It's rare for glass blocks to break under normal circumstances, but if damage does occur, it's important to address it promptly to maintain the integrity of the entire structure. Overall, you can trust in the durability of glass blocks to provide both beauty and resilience to your home.

Glass block windows enhance home privacy and energy efficiency by blocking external views and sealing out drafts. They deliver superior insulation while allowing ample natural light to brighten your space. Their solid, opaque design guarantees that unwanted onlookers are kept at bay and reinforces security. In addition, the airtight construction maintains a stable indoor temperature, reducing the need for excessive heating or cooling, which in turn lowers energy expenses and boosts overall home comfort.
