"Comments: I am very impressed with 3D Environmental North. Tom Nightlinger and his team explained the entire process to me and kept me informed the entire time. They took the time to answer our questions and concerns. 3D Environmental was very reasonable on price and the turn around to complete the job. All the work that was performed was done in a neatly and timely fashion. The crew was very professional, neat and exceptionally knowledgeable. We highly recommend Tom Nightlinger at 3D Environmental North for all your needs. Thank you Tom and crew of professionals for getting my home back to healthy and normal."

"Contractor was on time and very professional. They cleaned my chimney and inspected my other flues. The only thing I did not appreciate was; they took my main heat apart and then told me there were a birds nest blocking the chimney/flue. They turned off the heater and told me they could not turn it back on because of the blockage. I called the folks who installed my heater. They checked it out, removed the few branches and turned the heater back on. It took about 10 minutes. The estimate for the repairs, as Champion saw it, came to over $3000.00. I don't doubt that their apprasial of the sisution, this is a very old home and it needs lots of work and I do plan to get some of the things done in the near future, as I can afford them-still my wife and I did not like being without heat for a night.

"We had some initial communication issues but they worked itself out.  The area was a small space that turned out to be a bit more difficult than expected such as the sink be installed poorly by a previous contracter but Chris was very professional and did a wonderful job.  He fixed the sink so it was installed properly.  He pays great attention to detail and does the job right.  I also used them to re-do my flat roof in the late Spring.  They got the job done right away and for a reasonable a good price.

"I actually had my bathroom completed by another contractor who did not waterproof properly which caused leaking and a nightmare. Jon came in and ripped out the tile and did proper waterproofing on my shower. We now have a good working and beautiful shower. He is professional, his work is excellent and priced competive. I would highly recommend him. I joined Angies list because of the horrible experience I had with a prior contractor. I would highly recommend Jon and will be having him to come back and finish my other bathrooms.

FAQs for glass blocks service projects in Philadelphia, PA

You should seal glass block walls every two to three years. Sealing glass blocks is especially important for shower walls because the glass blocks get hit with water frequently. You can use silicone sealant to fill the outside perimeter joints of the wall on both sides. If you notice any gaps or holes before that period, it's best to fill them as soon as they appear.

While it's possible to replace a single glass block if one breaks, it's a task that requires caution and expertise. The process involves carefully removing the damaged block by chipping out the surrounding mortar, which can be hazardous due to sharp glass fragments. For your safety, it's recommended to wear appropriate protective gear, such as safety goggles, gloves, and long-sleeved clothing. However, to ensure the replacement is done safely and correctly, it's best to hire a professional who has the necessary skills and equipment.

Glass blocks are designed to be quite durable and can withstand a fair amount of impact. While they are made of glass and can chip or break under extreme conditions, solid glass block windows are robust and offer substantial strength. Reinforcing rods and mortar used in installation contribute to their overall sturdiness. It's rare for glass blocks to break under normal circumstances, but if damage does occur, it's important to address it promptly to maintain the integrity of the entire structure. Overall, you can trust in the durability of glass blocks to provide both beauty and resilience to your home.

Glass block windows enhance home privacy and energy efficiency by blocking external views and sealing out drafts. They deliver superior insulation while allowing ample natural light to brighten your space. Their solid, opaque design guarantees that unwanted onlookers are kept at bay and reinforces security. In addition, the airtight construction maintains a stable indoor temperature, reducing the need for excessive heating or cooling, which in turn lowers energy expenses and boosts overall home comfort.
