"I had a totally positive experience working with Sanders and sons Masonry for my foundation brick repairs, and my chimney cap replacement. They also cut out brick and put two glass block panels in too. Tim was very professional and explained the project in a way I could easily understand. He kept me informed, and did top-notch work. I highly recommend Tim and his workers to anyone looking to fix or restore their brick or block walls, and we will definitely use them again when needed."

Patio has narrow access to it from driveway - Karl's small Bobcat tractor was able to maneuver in tight spaces. Old concrete was removed, new bed of limestone footing installed, and foam barrier installed against house. They repaired previously unseen void in concrete porch step next to patio. Poured concrete to ensure drainage away from house, used brushed finish. Can't believe how much better it looks now with the new concrete!  Well worth the investment.

"I appreciated the painters taking time to understand my expectations for the finished work. They exceeded my expectations in all ways. Not only did they do an expert and beautiful job of painting the walls and trim, they payed attention to the additional details I had envisioned for this job. The painters collaborated with a craftsman in the NuLook workshop to create an oak, Shaker-style pegboard to span the wall of my master bathroom. This is an outstanding piece of woodworking that complements the oak cabinets. The nature-inspired tiling installed around the shower in my half-bath/laundry room has given the room an updated, visually appealing look. These successful bathroom projects have set the stage for painting and updating the other rooms in my older home. I couldn't be happier with this work."

"They were about an hour late due to vehicle problems but got to work right away. They were very neat and orderly as well as being friendly and professional. They did a great job getting everything done. My only complaint is that they left the boxes from the new lights on the ground where the lights were installed and did not dispose of them.

"It was an excellent experience. We needed a lot of "hand holding" through this project due to our lace of experience with masonry work around driveways. King Masonry was very helpful in every aspect of the project. The workers were great in removing the railroad ties, laying the cement, and building the wall. They were sensitive to our plants around the area, our neighbors yards, and how much they blocked the street. The communication from Mr. King was excellent. He kept us up to date on every step along the way. In addition, the mason did an amazing job on our new wall! The only reason I couldn't give them an "A" on professionalism, is that my final payment check was lost. I had to stop payment on it, which cost me money, and write a new check. Other than that small issue, it was a fantastic experience."

"It was great from beginning to end. While they was installing our granddaughter was here and she kept saying hi threw the opened area and they said hi back every single time. Just as gentle as she said it made her day. That I turn made the process easier ! The finishing touches really made the product shine !!"

FAQs for glass blocks service projects in Indianapolis, IN

You should seal glass block walls every two to three years. Sealing glass blocks is especially important for shower walls because the glass blocks get hit with water frequently. You can use silicone sealant to fill the outside perimeter joints of the wall on both sides. If you notice any gaps or holes before that period, it's best to fill them as soon as they appear.

While it's possible to replace a single glass block if one breaks, it's a task that requires caution and expertise. The process involves carefully removing the damaged block by chipping out the surrounding mortar, which can be hazardous due to sharp glass fragments. For your safety, it's recommended to wear appropriate protective gear, such as safety goggles, gloves, and long-sleeved clothing. However, to ensure the replacement is done safely and correctly, it's best to hire a professional who has the necessary skills and equipment.

Glass blocks are designed to be quite durable and can withstand a fair amount of impact. While they are made of glass and can chip or break under extreme conditions, solid glass block windows are robust and offer substantial strength. Reinforcing rods and mortar used in installation contribute to their overall sturdiness. It's rare for glass blocks to break under normal circumstances, but if damage does occur, it's important to address it promptly to maintain the integrity of the entire structure. Overall, you can trust in the durability of glass blocks to provide both beauty and resilience to your home.

Glass block windows enhance home privacy and energy efficiency by blocking external views and sealing out drafts. They deliver superior insulation while allowing ample natural light to brighten your space. Their solid, opaque design guarantees that unwanted onlookers are kept at bay and reinforces security. In addition, the airtight construction maintains a stable indoor temperature, reducing the need for excessive heating or cooling, which in turn lowers energy expenses and boosts overall home comfort.
